Thats a what?!?

My Mom is an artist.  She has done incredible oil paintings (mainly of plantation homes), illustrated children’s books and created beautiful murals for people’s homes.  Then…..there’s me.  Unfortunately, I did not inherit one ounce of her creative talent!  Stick people are challenging.

So, what on Earth made me sign up to go on a girls’ night out at an art studio?!?  I must have been delusional from all the recent sleepless nights!  Saturday evening, I will be joining 12 of my closest friends at a “Cocktails and Canvas” party.  Each guest brings a dish or an “adult beverage” and once we are all nice and tipsy……..we paint! LOL!  An art teacher will be on hand to teach us to paint this New Orleans style house:

Blah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha HA HA HA HA HA!  Yeah, um, right.  I can do that. Sure.

Honestly, I am very much looking forward to the evening out with my friends, but I am definitely NOT thinking I will be able to hang this painting in my home for all to see.  Who wants to see a picture of what I create tomorrow?  Has anyone ever attended a party like this before?  Please tell me it’s paint by numbers!

I think this is a great idea and just paint whatever you want, who cares what it looks like in the end!

What a delightful idea! I can’t paint either, but I’d totally sign up for something like that. It will be relaxing and refreshing. Art is therapeutic. So is booze and chocolate. ;-)
