The Definition of Trusting your Husband

Yesterday I told my DH that I would just dye my hair at home. That’s like a cardinal sin in my house. Every time those magic words come out of my mouth, my hair turns green, grey, black…every color but the one on the box.

My dh, understandably, said no. No way. Not letting you do it. It will come out pink.

I said listen. My hair is very long. It costs about $200 to cut and color it at this point. Simply put, everyone in the family has to make sacrifices to save and pay off medical bills, etc and this is mine. I’m doing it myself.

So he is comes over…skeptical…and helps me decide on which box.

Then he makes a good point about the reason box hair dye doesn’t work is because I like streaks and its all one color.

Hmm. Got me there.

So I asked him if he would do the highlighting cap for me and he said sure. I picked up one of the caps and he did my hair.

Salon De Husband.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

  1. If Bill offered to do mine, I’d let him, but he’s the one who is afraid that he’d screw up. I have totally given up on the coloring and have gone over to the dark side… well, actually, the gray side.
I think Chris did a fantastic job, you look beautiful!
I think you are brave to let yourself be photographed with that cap on your head. :-)

  2. LOL Picturing Chris dying your hair just made my morning – thank you! And you’re right – it does look good. Maybe Chris found his new calling….. ;-)

  3. Brandy says:

Beautiful (though I HATE that damn highlighter caps lol). Jeff wants to help me dye my hair and I’m a bit scared ha! Maybe I should let him instead of waiting for years for my sister lol.

  4. GORGEOUS

  5. Kasandria says:

Wow! Go Chris! It looks great!

    Great highlights!

  8. Brittany says:

Go Chris and it does look awesome!

  9. Kelly W says:

not bad. it is definitely not pink. you have a great husband. mine wouldn’t have touched this with a 10 foot pole

  10. Lisa says:

You are a much braver person than I am. My husband has also offered to help me with my hair, but I have this scary feeling that he would make me look more like a skunk than anything else, just to have a laugh. But I really like how your hair came out. I never can get blond highlights, only red ones. BTW..I’m new to posting here, but I’ve been reading your blog for a couple of months and I really enjoy it!

  11. Firefly says:

Nice! It looks great! Oh I’ve been making those sacrifices for years now, no wonder I look weird LOL

  12. Katie says:

You are far braver than I could ever be!

  13. Erin says:

What a good husband! I barely let my husband brush my daughter’s hair so having him dyeing my hair is outside the realm of possibilty. Not that he’d ever want to anyway. He’d probably laugh at me if I asked.

**Nevermind, I asked him just to see. He said “I don’t know. How hard is it?” lol Guess more men would be willing if we just asked.

  14. Rhea says:

WTG Chris! I would never in a million years let my DH touch my head…but that’s just me.
