The Invasion of the Mom Blogs (1st Wave)

Editors Note: I wanted to butt in here really quick. Karen lists our blogs for us and she does it for nothing more then a thank you. It literally takes HOURS to answer emails, list blogs for people for free, put up graphics, and copy info over into our listing pages. Please thank her for all the work she does in the blog community to list your blogs for FREE! If you want to buy her a beer for her hard work, let her know! She deserves it. Of the long list of pending blogs and boutiques to be listed, about 75% of them are Mom Blogs.  So I thought I’d tackle as many of those as I can over the next couple of weeks.  Here is the first batch.  Please take a few minutes to drop by a few of them.

So Much More Than A Mom ~Before we were moms we had many roles that defined us.  We had interests and hobbies that did not revolve around the next soccer game or who the next PTA treasurer was going to be.  How many of us gave all of that up when we became moms?  How many of us lost OURSELVES when we took on the awesome title of MOM?  And why did we do that?  Don’t get me wrong, I adore my sons and would do anything for them.  They are amazing people and helping to guide them through this crazy life has been, and will always be, a role I treasure and wouldn’t change for anything in the world.  I love them both with all my heart.  My family is my number one priority in life.  Having said that, aren’t I part of my family?  Don’t I deserve at least some of my time and attention?  Won’t taking care of myself ultimately make me a better mom anyway?  I am many things, as are we all.  We are ALL…SO MUCH MORE THAN A MOM!

Stacy’s Random Thoughts ~After 20+ years in the Corporate World, I welcomed a Miracle Baby and became a SAHM…I have loved every minute of it the past 6 years, and look forward to many more years!  My Little Princess is a constant source of entertainment, and I am blessed to have her in my life.  I have a great husband that keeps me on my toes with his intellectual and literal personality, along with his dry sense of humor.  Still training him, of course, that always takes time! (grin!!)  My fairly new blog is based on random thoughts on the joys of parenting, family, friends, love, life and anything else that strikes my fancy. Rants In My Pants ~When I am an old woman I will wear huge hats to church and sit in the front row so that no one behind me can see.  I will sing loud – maybe the same hymn, maybe not.  I will say exactly what I think, and pretend not to understand when people are offended. I will use my age as an excuse to boss people around, even if I don’t know them – (eg.  “I’m 95 years old.  I could die any minute and you look like you could use the exercise – so give me your chair you stinky little man”)…but for now, this blog will have to do.

More Mindless Rambling ~This blog is appropriately titled “More Mindless Rambling” because that is exactly what it is.  I start off with an idea and I go wherever it takes me.  I work full-time, have 3 kids, 2 dogs, and one husband and I may be blogging about any or all of those things, or something entirely unrelated.  I do it to decompress; I NEED to decompress!

No Time For a Haircut ~I’m a 28-year-old first time mommy who started blogging because I wanted to journal about my pregnancy from August 2007-April 2008–and to get insight from others! In July 2008 I re-posted my pregnancy entries at the above site, hoping to “pay it forward” by helping other women with similar situations–such as, all-day sickness, a hypnobirthing labor, a posterior baby in a small pelvis, a son w/ jaundice and a brachial cleft fistula, and my rollercoaster with breastfeeding. In the meantime, I’m continuing to go for my life-long dream of getting a novel published.

Testosterone Zone Tales ~I am a stay home and work mom of 3 boys. What I lack in cooking skills, I make up for in bargain shopping. My gas guzzling, Boy Mover is often seen at the swimming pool, baseball field, grocery store, elementary school, church, or the YMCA. Someday my car will be clean, it won’t smell like dirty socks or wet towels, but today is not that day.

Mommin’ It Up! ~Mommin’ It Up is written by Jenny and Emily, two thirtyish, married cousins with 4 kids between them, ages 4 and under.  Jenny is a SAHM and Emily is a full-time working mom, and each blogs about her unique challenges of motherhood. Memoirs of an EVILFLU ~My personal experiences of being a young, widowed mother to an awesome little boy.  Though it is a pretty tough situation to be in, I try my hardest to make my blog a fun place and a place that I hope will do somebody some good, whether it giving them a chuckle or a different point of view to think about.

I Heart Mommyhood ~I do love mommyhood. I do love being a mother. But I’m not gonna lie – it’s by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done! After almost two years I’m finally okay to admit that sometimes it downright sucks. If I’m feeling this way, obviously others are too.

My goal for this site is not to spend my time complaining, I promise. But I do plan to share the good, the bad, and the ugly of motherhood. I’d venture to say that although some of my stories might be unique, they’re probably quite similar to what other mothers are experiencing as well.

I love to write, though I’m new to this whole blogosphere. I hope I can make a few people laugh along with me as I record the goings-on of my life – which is something I like to call “organized chaos”.

Moms Without Blogs ~”Moms WIthout Blogs” is a safe haven for any mom (blog or no blog) who realizes she is a far cry from being a modern-day “uber-mom”.  At MWOB, we don’t claim to do anything mom-related particularly well (and we yell maybe a little too much) but we also firmly believe that “being a supermom is simply state of mind.”  With plenty of humor, a touch of sarcasm and plenty of heart, MWOB advocates a “Less is More” philosophy to this whirlwind journey of motherhood.

I Am Boymom ~I Am Boymom. That’s who I’ve been for 9 years now. I eat, drink and sleep boy stuff. Every once in awhile I have faint memories of being a girl. Those memories usually manifest themselves when I go in my sons’ bathroom and notice the complete lack of aiming skills my boys posess. I can truthfully say, as a girl, I have NEVER peed on the wall. I have however, as a Boymom, cleaned it off of the wall, and many other shocking places, several thousand times. I love being a Boymom, but I am glad that my girl side has reappeared and takes the time to show up once in awhile, even if it’s only for quick visits. She takes better care of me than Boymom does.
