The Mom behind the Blog

So many of you have been faithfully keeping me busy, boosting my ego by chitchatting in the comments, and have networked like nuts in the momdot forums. I figured I owed you an interview of myself so you could see the crazy lady behind all this insanity around here. It would be kinda weird if one of the interviewers interviewed me when I could just write it out, so here goes. A little about Trisha ~ (a little about the other girls will be coming up!)

My childhood: I didn’t really have a mom. Of course I have one, but I have honestly probably seen her in person 8 times in my life. I may be over counting, I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt. She gave me up to my dad in the 70’s when I was about a year old and he took custody of me. She was, and remains, and alcoholic. I’m not sure if i should be sad about it or not. I sometimes think if she dies, if I will even go to the funeral. My dad remarried my stepmom, and she was my stepmom till they divorced when I was about 16. My dad remarried, my stepmom remarried. My stepmom was murdered by her new husband after she filed for divorce for abuse. He broke into her house and shot her and then himself. This was my brother and sisters mom. My dad has a new wife and has been with her for about 13 years, give or take. She is wonderful, but my brother and sister will never like her because they lost their mom and feel she is a replacement. (picture: my sister and I)

My husband: I met my husband in high school, where we were best friends. Interestingly, we found out that we lived down the street from each other in a small town in Nebraska when we were kids. We went to the same gymnastics studio and played in the same woods by our house. We probably talked to each other honestly. He moved to Georgia and I moved to Florida. Then he moved to Florida and we met in High school there. I am one year and one month older then he is. I graduated High school and went to the University of South Florida for one year before my DH graduated high school. He then went to the University of Florida for a year before coming to USF. We lived on campus, separately for one more year, then moved in together after that. His parents ‘cut him off’ for us moving in together, which is ironic considering his sister lives with her boyfriend and they bought her a car. Don’t get me started. We graduated college and walked across the stage following each other in 2001, commissioned into the AF, and got married all in the same week. We have been married a few months over 7 years and together since about 1995 as a couple.

Having kids: I always thought I wanted a bigger family. I love my child and I love having her, but the truth is that i like my own time too and I am afraid to sacrifice anymore of who I am inside for a bigger family. I am afraid I will have to quit the things I love to do to raise another child. I run an online business and I like blogging, and I don’t think I want to give those things up. I am also afraid I will ruin my body. I am over 30 now and I don’t think its gonna go back. I’m really conceited over looking good.

My insecurities: I hate my teeth. I never went to the dentist a lot as a child and i have almost no enamel on my teeth. I also had crooked teeth till I was 26 years old and there are NO pictures of me smiling with them. I got braces at 26 and got them off at 28. I still have extensive damage to them and am very self conscious. I plan on getting veneers before I am 35.

My wild life: I have only had 2 boyfriends. My first boyfriend and then the one I married. I have never dated. No one ever asked me. I was sorta that girl that was an ugly duckling. . My first boyfriend still hates me because he was best friends with Chris. So when I started dating chris, he never forgave either one of us. We are all 30 now, and he still wont talk to us. Although it was him, that left me, for some other chick. I swear to you that on Valentines day I found a recipet in his jacket for a dozen roses that I never got. Asswipe.

My husband says that I am unapproachable for men I get nervous if I talk to someone hot, so that’s probably true. I have only met a few guys in my entire life I thought were good looking as it is. One was a gate guard at the Charleston AFB. He was about 5 years younger then I was, probably 19, and deadly hot. His name was Brian Ball and my DH refers to him as Balls. Every time we would go through the gate at the base, my DH would cover my eyes. ROFL. I also knew a guy in college named Ryan. We called him ‘Hottie Ryan’. My Dh, who wasn’t my DH at the time, would get annoyed to find him in our apartment. He was jealous of him, i know he was. Ryan was incredibly gorgeous, had an amazing body, and was in a finance program at my college. I met him online and did some photos (as the photographer, i know what your thinking) for him. We became friends and partied a little bit. It was never anything more then just hanging out. He later went on to become an eligible bachelor in Cosmo magazine and was briefly on Temptation Island. I’m pretty sure it was the photos I took that got him there. :-)    And one last guy, that I wont even mention, cause I got into way too much trouble with that guy, while I was married, so, that’s not good. (pictures: vegas and a club, not of guys mentioned)

On friends: The only friends I actually have I met online. Well, except one. I have a good friend in tampa that I never see, but i talk to online, so i lump it all together. My best friends are girls I met in forums or chat room communities on mothering boards. I cant keep regular female friends. Between being busy or having a kid, schedules just never seem to meet up. I am a good phone buddy and a good internet buddy though. (all online friends to the left)

On Modeling: I was a model in college, for glamour and bikini. I got down to 98 pounds at one point. That’s a joke now. LOL! It wouldn’t even be healthy for me now. But I used to live on cokes and choclate. I used to travel to Miami and do shoots every weekend in college. I was invited by Playboy for a tryout in Miami and a try out in Tampa, which I did both and did not make either one of those shoots. I mean, my breasts were only Bs, and now they are As, so whatever. I was invited to the Playboy mansion a million years ago but did not go. I wish I would have went now. I would probably have some great stories to tell. I prefer to be on the other side of the camera and I love to take pictures. If I could start over in life, photography would be my full time hobby.

On College: I have a degree from the University of South Florida in Criminology. I was a class short of a minor in religion. I just took so many religion classes that i got that close. They were interesting. I went back to school for my paralegal certification before I had Charlotte, but I got pregnant and I couldnt start classes back up in the spring because I had her in January. I left my job to stay home with her afterwards and never went back to school. My DH went to Afghanistan and there was no one to watch her. We moved states as soon as he got back. I would have made a damn good paralegal though.

On Celebrities: I went to Nick Carters 21st birthday party when I was in college. I was leaving when I ran into some of the guys from Nysnc and decided I didn’t want to leave just yet. LOL. The whole thing was a weird experiance. Im not that good around celebrities. I feel weird talking to them. I made a fool of myself really. I went to a club in Orlando where I was VIP and JC and Lance from Nysnc were there. Lance is cross eyed in person. We got kicked out of that club for a fight my friend started w/ some chick. In fact, the entire club was emptied. That night could have been much more fun otherwise. I am the legal owner of KevinRichardson.com, which is one of the backstreet boys. I have owned it for about 8 years, but the record company runs it. I know, its weird. I bought it (they were stupid enough to not own it) and ran a site on it. One day they wanted it back. I gave it to them, but they never changed the info on it. So I have always owned it. It came up for renewal this week and I thought it would expire, but I got something in my email yesterday that its been renewed…under MY name again. I just sent an email over to those stupid lawyers a 2nd ago.  All the concert pics on the site are ones that I took at the cocerts anyway. Its totally bizarre.  I have met PINK backstage at an Nysnc concert. She is my height, that took me for a loop. I was invited to a party in Miami at Sylvester Stallone’s, but I did not go. I got one of my friends involved with a photographer in Miami, who basically sold her off to a ring where they took pretty girls to fancy parties for sex. I felt terrible for all of that, although I had nothing to do with it.

On rich guys: In college, boy i sure sound more wild then i am, I met a guy online who was filthy rich and on my birthday sent me 5 birthday cards, each with $100 bill in them. He also sent me MINTED MONEY with his face on it. Who does that? It was kinda surreal. We never met in person. Last year, I auctioned myself on eBay for an adviser…as in someone to advise ME in the world of business, just so I could pay for my business start up. I made $250, which paid for my business license to start Bambina. The guy just paid it and that was it. Ebay is great. Whoever that guy is, hats off to him, because its because of him I took that step to open an online site.

On the military: I had a love/hate relationship with the military. I loved so many things and i hated so many things. If i could start my life over, I also think that I would just go straight into the military after college. What my DH and I did wrong is that he went and never really had the heart for it and it should have been me. I was in ROTC in high school. I was good at it actually. I would have been a good officer. My grades in college were just average. I was a lazy student, although I am very smart and an excellent leader.

On the web: Everything I have learned about HTML and building web pages and SEO, I have learned by doing. I am just short of being an expert in SEO and can help just about anyone to make their website appear on the front page of google for almost any keyword if they are willing to listen. I am also an expert on resumes and could land anyone any job interview. I have a 100% record on them. I don’t do them anymore because its too time consuming. I am the queen of free advice and the queen of helping people, and it just eats up my time. I feel guilty charging people for things.

What you dont know about me: Im a complete bitch. However, I am also loving and kind and helpful, but I am very much like a man, as I was raised by a man. I am unemotional about most things and it drives people nuts that I just make up my mind and I am done with it. I hate drama, but am often involved in a lot of it. Mainly because I tend to lead things and end up in charge, therefore its my fault when things go wrong, whether or not its my fault.

On blogging: I love to blog, i love to connect, this is probably my only real outlet, so my blogging friends are just as important to me as anything I do in ‘real’ life, as pathetic as that may sound. My goals would be to continue to connect women to each other and provide an all inclusive community to learn, have fun, win prizes, talk about life, and network on the forums. A one stop blogging shop, so to speak.I think that information should always be exchanged freely and we are all great at something, so we should help each other out and help each other succeed. I do not believe in there is you, here is me, but rather, here is us and what can we do together to reach a goal.

On my husband again: I have a very special husband. We have known eacother for many years and can talk to eachother about anything (hence, anything I am sharing here isn’t a secret or anything from him). He is my best friend hands down. I think he is the hottest guy I have ever met and sometimes wonder why he is with me. He is an amazing father and spends ALL of his free time with us. He doesn’t do anything for himself, which makes me want to spoil him. We have had our ups and downs, but we don’t really even argue, even if its serious. We are friends before anything else. I am lucky to have found him.

Thank you for sharing! I really enjoyed reading this and your photos. I almost went to USF. I was supposed to start this fall but I ended up moving to Arizona to be with the guy I’m going to marry. So I’ll go to ASU instead. But I may come back home for my masters.
