Recently I received an email about a contest that Sears was having for ShopYourWay asking why you would be the “Ultimate Personal Shopper”. I considered it….just because I love fashion, would I actually be a good Personal Shopper? Honestly,…I am going to let you decide. There is nothing that catalogs a life more than Facebook, so I thought it would be fair to dive into what I share the most and share it with Sears.
The Top 5 Reasons I would be a great personal stylist
——————————————————–
5) I am not limited by just clothing.
Part of what makes up a style is the whole package. For me that is hair, nails, makeup, shoes, and accessories. I believe that a good sense of style starts with knowing about what makes YOU tick. In my life, it’s more than just a new dress. It’s also about feeling good in your own skin.
I get those feelings with the following….
Facials:
Highlights:
and Mommy/Daughter Pedicures:
4) I pay attention to someones personal style and not just things that “I” like.
As a personal stylist you cannot just go out and find something that would be great on yourself. It doesn’t take me long when hanging with someone to “get” who they are. I love helping people develop their beauty and clothing style and not detract from how they feel most comfortable. I do believe that sometimes women need an extra push to get out of jogging pants and black T shirts and I am ready to do that, but I would never make someone step so far from who they are, they felt self conscious.
3) I am not afraid to ask for opinions and listen to them.
When I am out shopping, I am very online and social. I am constantly sharing shoes, clothes and makeup I find.
In fact, just a few weeks ago I was out looking for deals and ran across this jacket…and got some very opinionated responses:
and response…
and more response…
I did not buy the jacket.
2) Friends, family, and companies all seek out my thoughts on fashion.
Not a day goes by that I am not asked or text an outfit or makeup to look at. My friends trust me with their fashion choices and subsequently I have helped prevent the 80′s from returning on many of my friends styles. Before an event? Forget about it..my phone is blowing up with dressing room pictures from friends. And I LOVE it. Here are a few friends asking and sharing…

and sometimes they actually buy something I recommend:
1) I am self confident.
It doesn’t matter if I am working my way into a new fancy dress for Mardi Gras (this is one of the many I shared on my shopping trip):
or just a Pregnant Fashionista:
dressing my kids up (after all, they are the perfect canvas)
or going for a night on the town with my husband:
I think that the most important feature a woman can wear is her confidence. You don’t have to look fancy to FEEL good about yourself.
Beauty is truly something you share from the inside.
Now I don’t want you to take my word for it…so I asked online….here are just a few of those responses…
And a few more in case you are not convinced yet…
With back to school coming up, I do not want to leave you hanging.
My top 3 selections at Sears would be:
1) Dark Wash Denim Jeans: Denim is a must have for all kids. It lasts and lasts, is still fashionable with holes, and let me state again…lasts and lasts. I love these Toughskin jeans because dark denim tends to be flattering with most top choices and these have an adorable embroidered flower that give them a little something extra.
2) Self Esteem 2 piece outfit: Aside from purple, which is a fantastic color, and aside from the fact that this outfit is only $12, I love the little conservative play on the shrug, the matching necklace, and the belt. Truly a full outfit to make any girl feel special on her first day:
3) Jr Floral Print Blouse: Including a little cami underneath, this blouse would look great with some jeans. I find it romantic and the buttons in the middle add a nice waistline for a trendy teen.
Alright, I have laid it all on the line. If you think that Sears should pick me to show case a little about fashion to their users as a truly authentic over sharer of making the outside match the inside, please consider tweeting, thumbing this post, or leaving a comment. And while I do believe I have shown how active my lifestyle is with fashion, I am always humbled by your support on my site.

~disclosure: I Submitted this blog post to Sears Holdings for the opportunity to appear in a ShopYourWay.com Video.
update: I have removed my entry into the competition. The prize does not include a ticket to the event and they are sold out, so it wont help me much to attend. Thank you to my community for responding and supporting my blog regardless!

I love reading your fashion advice posts on Facebook and the blog! And I’m glad you didn’t buy that jacket!
Now if only some of your confidence would rub off on me…..wanna go shopping? lol!
Yes, I’d let you be my fashion stylist because I know you’d tell me the truth.

That would be a perfect job for you! And I love your fashion sense too!
I love your little fashion updates! I think it’s so important for mothers to know that they can still be fashionable and feel beautiful, and sexy. I mean, putting on some lip gloss & mascara, and a nice outfit goes a long way. Add in regular hair cuts and manicures and that’s even better!
Best of luck, you totally should win!
I would pick that shirt for myself LOL. It’s so pretty (the last one)
I can’t think of anyone I’d choose over you if I was wanting fashion advice, and what a great way to write your posts. I think you really proved just how much of a fashionista you are! Awesome and good luck.
Wow I look like a cyber stalker!
You are the perfect personal shopper! I’d let you dress me all day long
Sears, pick Trisha! She’d be awesome to represent your brand.

I can’t think of anyone better for this job than you! I would actually wear the clothes and use the makeup you choose.
I would totally hire you! That maroon dress? Adorable.
Then again, everything you wear is.
YES! You said it best: you understand everyone has personal style and you know it’s about how one feels in their skin. Not to mention, you have a creative eye. And now you can probably expect a lot more of your friends to text/fb/msg you in hope of getting personal style advice from you! LOL

I think you would make a fantastic personal stylist and yes, I would love for you to be mine!
I remember when you posted that jacket. So glad you didn’t buy it.
Totally up your alley!
I would totally let you style me. I’m jealous of your natural ability to be just so fashionable. It’s really not fair! Lol
I always enjoy your fashion type shares and posts. I think this very much fits you and as others said I could use the help too lol.
I would totally take your style advice! Actually, you should start a makeover feature on your blog. I nominate myself as the first makeover.
This is right up your alley – I always look forward to your ‘fashion shows’ on Facebook!

Love your dresses that you have been sharing lately! I ended up bringing some (and buy two new ones) for our beach trip thanks to all of your dress pictures on Facebook lately!!
I could really use a personal shopper, my wardrobe is kind of pathetic. You, on the other hand, are so cute! I would definitely hire you.
Trisha, I’ve loved seeing all your fashion choices / questions on Facebook – you are so much fun to be friends with
I think you’d be great and I’d LOOOOOVE to take you shopping with me to help me out. I like to think I’m not fashion-challenged…but I think I might be. A little.
You can be my personal stylist any day. I always love your look and wish I could pull it off like you do!
I am one of those who has NO CLUE how to buy fashion. I have no idea what looks good on me and no confidence to think out of the box and therefore HATE shopping almost as much as I hate broccoli. I would absolutely hire you because you touched upon pretty much every single one of my weaknesses.
Umm…will you be able to do Skype consultations? I need help and would hire you!
I’d hire you!! I could use some help…. actually… a lot of help!
The maroon dress looks awesome!!
I need a personal shopper … Hate shopping. It depresses me … I need someone to show outfits and help me learn what looks good on me. I adore your style (and the new hair cut) and would totally rely on you for fashion help!
Excellent post! Good luck!
I do love your fashion style–I’ve been eyeing all the shoes choices you’ve been posting. I love shoes–can’t wear the heels at work (OK,, not supposed to, but I still try once in a while). By the way, I think you should have bought that jacket!
Ahh awesome post! I would definitely love to take you shopping Trisha to pick out my clothes, shoes, makeup!! Can I hire you some time:)
I think you would knock Sears socks off! I love following your tweets/facebook fashion updates Probably because my sense of fashion is hopeless.
I think you’d make the perfect personal shopper!! Love the pregnancy photos, by the way
. Even when you were pregnant you were still extremely fashionable!
thankyou! i blogged a lot about fashion while I was PG..it was about the only thing I could think to write when I wasnt tired.
I’ve always thought you had a great sense of style. I would totally trust you to pick out clothes or makeup for me. Good luck!
Love this post, I’d have you as my personal shopper any day!
I think you would be the perfect personal shopper! I have often seen photos you post of what you are wearing and I am like “damn, I want THAT!”. The fact that you always look your best (not to mention those finely dressed kiddos) makes you an even better candidate. I wish you much success and if you ever wanna “style” this old lady, I am willing to let you
Yes, yes and yes!
I think you have awesome taste and I would definitely let you pick out my outfits for a weekend if I didn’t have time to go shopping!

You have such fabulous taste Trisha, and I’m always looking forward to your posts on Facebook and here on your blog. I think you would be a great personal stylist!
If it were up to me, I’d pick you in a heart beat!
I cant think of anyone better Trisha!
Someday I need to smuggle you with me to the store to help me with my drab closet!
I want you to be my personal shopper Trisha! You are amazing and I love how you pull an outfit together. I was telling someone, I forgot who, that I want to fly you to NY to outfit me haha. Love you! I hope I get to see you soon!
I’ve told you before but I’ll say it again, I would let you dress me any day. You already picked out a palette that’s “me” and my style so I’m sure you could pull off some clothes. And if you’re up for it … I’d love for you to put together an outfit for me online, under $60 for head to toe, for my vacation. I have two weeks to get something in my closet beside workout tees and cotton jogging shorts.
Now I’m wishing I had tried the pants on and sent you a picture of me wearing them.
i will add that to its own post and stumble it.
Ok, next time I go out I’ll stop back at that store. I’ll find a nice floral shirt to go with it. I’ll be your “don’t be caught dead in this” model.
