While surfing online one day, I found this really amazing, unique little product that I thought all kids (and parents) could benefit from, so we could not resist asking her to give a pair away. Lucky for us, she was all to happy to share with all of you!
Introducing, TIE BUDDIES- teach your kids to tie in no time!
About Tie Buddies:
Tie BuddiesTM will revolutionize when and how children learn to tie their shoes. With Velcro and slip-ons the average age of children learning to tie has increased with some children learning as late as 9 or 10.
Tie BuddiesTM offer children ages 3-9 the independence of tying their own shoes while quickly teaching them a method which is based around characters and stories depicted on the Tie BuddiesTM themselves. Tie BuddiesTM first offering includes one design each for boys and girls but rest assured more great characters are to come!

About Mom I
nventor Wendy:
Tie Buddies™ was born in January 2007 by inventor and mother of two, Wendy Welling. As she lay next to her younger daughter, she kept thinking that there simply had to be a better way to help her children learn to tie their own shoes!
Inspired by both her daughter’s excitement – and their increased feelings of independence as they quickly learned to tie their own shoes – Wendy spent months fiddling with prototypes and ideas until finally perfecting Tie Buddies™. The key was to create cool characters and interactive stories that help the child learn and retain the process and as well as eliminating the frustrating ‘bunny ears or loops’ that just confuse children as they learn.
Thus in April 2007 this mother of two independent shoe-tying daughters created her own company, Widget Works, Inc, and launched Tie Buddies™ into the market.
To see the formal instructions on how to teach your kids with tie buddies, visit the tie buddies website. The gyst is two things. One, laces are small and hard for tiny fingers to grab on and tie buddies gives them something solid to hold. ANd two, they little characters tell a story, so its easy to loop them around eachother as part of the story!
Tie buddies comes in Girl sets or Boy Sets and only cost $9.99!

i don’t remember learning how to tie shoelaces, but i remember i started with the bunny ear method and then graduated from that. my sons currently wear shoes that close with velcro for simplicity’s sake. and it’s easier for my husband to get them ready in the morning. plus, our pre-school requests that kids who are not proficient in shoelac tying wear velco.
I learned to tie my shoes in kidergarden, so I was 4 or 5. It took a few tries. My daughter is trying to learn but is having a hard time

Learning to tie my shoes as a kid was very easy for me. Not so much for my son who still hasnt mastered it. Those bunny ear loops really trip him up every time!!!

These look fun! I like the race cars. I honestly don’t remember when I learned to tie my shoes, but I laugh my butt off everytime I watch my little guy try to tie his shoes. He’s two and he’ll sit there with the laces and will just roll them up into a big ball, then announce he’s “ready to go now!”

I don’t remember what age I was when I learned to tie my shoes. My son is 4-3/4 now. He can do the first half, but does not know how to do the bunny ears yet. I’m sure he will soon. These Tie Buddies would certainly come in handy.

What a neat idea! When I was little, I remember having a shoe book, complete with laces that you could practice on. It was a really good idea, and I learned pretty quick. We’re still using velcro for my little one, but I hope to teach him soon.
