Top 100 Mom Blogs of 2009

OMG, Its Here, Its Finally Here! Our List…that should have been done by Dec 31st.

Hey, it’s not my fault the blogosphere got bigger.

This takes a while.

Before you groan at me, “oh trisha, some of these bloggers are on ALL the lists“, the reasons they make those lists in general is because they are doing an excellent job either marketing or standing out.

Its not democracy…it’s blogocracy. Get over it.

So here they are:

MomDots Top 100 Mom Bloggers of 2009

—————————————————————————–

100. You; Yes, this is a total cop out. But the truth is, I cannot possible list all of your blogs. I cant. Not only would it make pointing out some of the best useless, but even I dont get paid enough for that. So if you are not below, suck it up and tell everyone you are #100. Ill back you up.

——————————————

99. So Wonderful, So Marvelous (Name: Michelle):  She calls herself the lunatic behind the blog. Me thinks not so much a lunatic, but an entertaining picture filled, video filled, life filled bit of daily reading. She also does cool mom decorating crap that I would never do. For that she deserves a spot at my dinner table..err…list.

——————————————

98. Permission to Peruse (Name: Amy) Hot Mom Blogger, Content Writer, blog name I cant spell well. Yes! Found my #98. Amy is a collage of randomness that just feels right to read. She says blogging is cheap therapy…clearly she has never been on the front page of the NY Times. Then you NEED therapy. We give her a hall pass for listing bible versus on her about page.

——————————————

97. VDog (Name: The only reason VDog is this high and not lower is because for the LIFE of me I cannot remember her name…and I have even met her. Its probably my fault). This picture alone made her in the top #100. Tongue? Other woman? Hawt.

——————————————

96. Miss Grace’s Disgrace (Name: Jennifer) : Are there 365 days or 356 days in a year? Seriously, who cares. Jennifer made a blog post for almost every one of them in 2009 and she did so with flair. Pictures of you doing sh*t you probably don’t want your kids to know…but oh, they will. The internet doesn’t exactly go away. Its like sexting. That wedgie shot is going to live in eternity foreva.

——————————————

95. Airing my Dirty Laundry..one sock at a time (Name: Amber ) 6 years of blogging and still hanging on. Props for not deleting yourself or going batsh*t crazy already. Somehow I think you should be in my top 10, but it would feel like me pimping you out and well..you get the point. So ill sit you here. I really want to focus on 2009, but since we are in 2010 due to my slackerdome, I am going to say this post on Yo Gabba Gabba left me disgusted. But this post on you hiding from your daughter last week was going…dude. I feel your pain. My office doors are closed right now from the “pretend” dogs out there. Kill. Me.

——————————————

94.  My Kids might be martians (Name: Sissy): Occupation: Family B*tch. Those were her words not mine. I absolutely love the hard core honesty here. Its straight up, suck it up, don’t worry about the cuss words and ass kissing, f**k yours, its my opinion time. No, I’m not a fan of black blog with white text cause it tears my eyes out in reading, BUT its worth the shaking your head in agreement if you need to unwind.

——————————————

93. Sippy Cup Chardonnay (Name: Rachel): Rachel has a pretty awesome blog that is simply about her life…even if it includes kitty litter and baby pee.

——————————————

92.  I am bossy (Name: Georgia) I’m going to be real. I introduced myself to Bossy at the Nikon party at BlogHer. Hey, I’m a fan. I watch her youtube video. I read her blog on occasion. I watched people fawn over how freaking awesometastic she is at some conference last year. So I mustered up some courage. She is like 6 foot tall compared to me and gorgeous. She looked me up and passed me by. Dont get me wrong, I got a hi, but she didn’t even ask my blog name or make an effort to be interested. Sigh. But such is life. I sucked it up and managed not to kill myself that night. Her blog is still pretty cool.

——————————————

91. The Daily Grind (Name: Jill): I sorta have known Jill since my beginning of MomDot.  She has always been a hard worker and I have watched her slowly move from an unknown to an everywhere. I think she should be immensely proud of taking her blog to the forefront and I hope to see her continue to do great things. Even if she never talks to me anymore.

——————————————

90. Busy-Mommy (Name: Emily): This blog is one that I could visit over and over again. Its visually stunning with a crisp white and primary (some of those are primary right?) colors everywhere, it doesn’t carry a lot of hoopla and you can move through quite easily and quickly. Emily also put together a secondary blog called Dish on Delish. Don’t go there if you are hungry. Trust me.

——————————————

89. Mom101 (Name: Liz): Liz had a big year with Blog with Integrity. She also runs Cool Mom Picks which shares some of the best items out there for you to blow your hard earned blog moola.

——————————————

88. Baconismylover (Name: No freaking clue ) This crap explains why none of yall want to meet her. But this explains why you do.

——————————————

87. Mother Bumper (Name: Katie): Katie isnt a daily blogger, but when she blogs, she is worth reading. She also blogs at Aiming Low…which is not on the list because I did my best to keep collaborative blogs off.

——————————————

86. Pundit Mom (Name: Joannne): I certainly don’t dive into politics too much. It makes my tummy hurt. But if you want someone that contributes all over the place and knows her…stuff…this the blog you need to visit to get the low down. Moms + Politics = Good Bathroom Reading.

——————————————

85. Cheaper Than Therapy (Name: Jen): Jen is one of those girls that just helps everyone, is nice to everyone, and shares some seriously funny conversations with her family. You will be agreeing and shaking your head along with her in no time.

——————————————

84. McMommy Chronicles (Name: ) This is the only blog I have ever went to that has ONE blog on each page. Its like checking out a chapter in a book for the day, which is perfect for those of us easily distracted. And lets face it, thats all of us.  Start Here.

——————————————

83. The Domestic Goddess (Name: Leah? Damn it all if I’m having a brain fart today) Just go visit and spare me the humiliation.

——————————————

82. I should be Folding Laundry (Name: Beth): Beautiful photography, beautiful words.

——————————————

81. Fairly Odd Mother (Name: Christina); What I like about this blog is its just about life. That’s it. About her life as a homeschooling mom, something someone like me would never have patience for, and it just works.

——————————————

80 Make and Takes (Name: Marie): Craft ideas, recipes, cool stuff you will probably burn yourself, cut off a finger, or glue yourself to the floor doing. Actually, not really. Totally kid friendly fun.

——————————————

79. Motherhood Uncensored (Name: Kristen) Moms? Uncensored? This goes against everything I was taught. Now get back in the kitchen, put on your pearls and be good. Or not…cause its better that way.

——————————————

78. Pensieve (Name: Robin ): Robin hangs with the cool crowd cause she is just…cool. Even if Disney has her off the list with the rest of us sh*theads. Wait. Now Im wondering if they do. Cause I thought they did. But maybe that was some other person. I bet you get an invite now.

——————————————

77.  Mighty Girl (Name: Maggie): One thing I am really into is redheads. Which is why there are so many on the list. KIDDING. Maggie is actually a pretty savvy chick. Her blog has a lot of pictures too, which is good for me when I dont want to read. I get it without the text. Nice.

——————————————

76. Hair for my Princess (Kori): Kori has an extreme niche market, but she is oh-so-fab at what she does. So fab in fact that she has her own book out on Princess Hair Styles, of which I purchased and is currently my daughters favorite toilet read. How is that for advertising?

——————————————

75. Mommyologist (Name: Mary): CUTE CUTE CUTE blog. I mean, overwhelmingly sickening cute. Cute colors, cute layout. I would snuggle up with this blog and give it a kiss. If it were a kid. But only my own cause I dont know where your brat has been.

——————————————

74. Mom To the Screaming Masses (Name: Carmen): Another one of those insane mothers with 6 kids. Which explains why she has right to the point blog posts that take about 20 seconds to read. And which i love.

——————————————

73. Jollymom (Alexa:  Name: Piera): Just a little bit of everything for everyone!

——————————————

72. Crunchy Domestic Goddess (Name: Amy): Amy is one of those natural and green mamas, the kind that I have a hard time getting behind simply because I am so freaking lazy, BUT we love what she does and how she does it. Her message is one that everyone should hear but even more importantly, her blog is good. And that makes me not run away and scream “no, I wont stop taking 2 baths a day!”

——————————————

71. The Not So Blog (Name: Bridgette): I have known Bridgette for 5 years..well before either one of us were ever on the blogging radar map. Truth be told, she started her blog so she could win stuff. She has now blossomed it into an adorable review blog that showcases her in her real life job as a scientist, and her take on the items she reviews. She also has a review team.

——————————————

70. Writing roads ( Name: Julie): To be honest, I am unsure if Julie is a mom. I am going to say no, but I could be wrong..that has been known to happen. I have met Julie. I met her when she spoke at a conference I was at and she is just as interesting and enlightened in person as she is on her blog. Her blog is a niche blog, specializing in the How To’s of being online, writing, PR, marketing, and her blog contains real material that we all should be soaking up. And the best part is that she does it without putting me to sleep- and that takes talent.

——————————————

69.  Finslippy (Name: Alice): Dooce listed her as one of HER favorite reads. What more do I add to that?

——————————————

68. Mommy Goggles (Name: Tanya): Tanya is invited to every trip out there. Every. Trip. She is a 100% review blogger and this is one of the few that I would turn to for an honest opinion. She works with every company, every PR, and knows the background of it all. Hardest working review blogger out there..case closed.

——————————————

67. Cool mom (Name: Daphne): Daphne is like the mom I always wanted to be but am too lazy to be. She has been on Oprah and Dr Phil and as  TV host, and Fox, and is a comedian and….are you sick of it yet? Atleast you know she is just that damn good.

——————————————

66.  Mommy Wants Vodka (Name: Becky): Read her footer. Sign up for her book. Nuff said.

——————————————

65. Mamalogues (Name: Dana): Im getting kinda sick of all the good looking bloggers. Do you know how hard it is to see this perfect hair? I wear sweat pants and no make up almost all day. Dana looks beautiful in all her Momversations videos. I hate you Dana! I hate you! Except your blog. That part I love.

——————————————

64. A Vapid Blonde (Name: Not sure, but her Dh is Tom, right?) Vapid isn’t always a good thing..but in this case, it really is. She may possibly be the only person on the face of the planet with a refrigerator that is worse then mine. By a loooooooooong shot too. Duh, Trisha, she has no kids. So what. She is on my list. Sue me.

——————————————

63. Adventures in Babywearing (Name: Stephanie): Stephanie can give you some fab advice, tips, tricks, and of course awesome items for your little ones, and she does it with style. Excellent blog layout, graphics, and fun to read. Ill even forgive that she hosts on blogger. *cough*

——————————————

62. Home To Heather (Name: Heather)

——————————————

61. Her Bad Mother ( Name: Catherine): She says…bad is the new good. We agree. Now why cant everyone else get on board? You may know Catherine from being a speaker, atleast I’m pretty sure she was a speaker at some conference last year..this year? Who cares, this is about blogging, not speaking. Go read.

——————————————

60. Natalies Sentiments ( Name: Natalie): This is a very sweet blog. Natalies family, in a nutshell, and there is no niche it stands on, nothing specific I am going to point out….while she isn’t Southern (yet, we still have to convert her) the blog comes off very traditional. A quick glance around and you know who she is right away. That’s what many blogs are missing.

——————————————

59. Redneck Mommy (Name: Tanis): See I really don’t hate Canadians…I know you’re thinking it cause there are only like 4 on this list. It just worked out that way. Tanis is a nice mixture of parenting, and parenting through the loss of a child, and has won lots of prestigious things already..which makes being on my list like chum.

——————————————

58. Angry Julie Monday (Name: Julie): No matter what her blog title says, Julie is not angry. Except on Mondays. If you don’t know this about her, julie is in law enforcement. Which is just….cool. Plus, I’m pretty sure she could kick my ass.

——————————————

57. Girls Gone Child (Name: Rebecca): Rebecca has a badass last name. Woolfe. I wonder often if that is a real last name or like one of those made up last names like Worthington uses. Me likey her blog either way.

——————————————

56. Anns rants (Name: Ann): Just like it says..Anns Rants. And don’t we all wish we had a place to just say the sh*t we think? Oh..wait. We do. Except my dad reads mine so I have to tone it down. Maybe Ill start emailing Ann my rants. Guest Rants.

——————————————

55. From Dates to Diapers (Name: Christine): Christine is one of the moms with her hands on the pulse of what mom wants, needs, and should be buying. Anyone with that many kids and can still carve enough time out to travel and be the face of brands deserves a pat on the back. Wonder woman!

——————————————

54.  Chic Shopper Chick (Name: Erika): Erika has the low down on all upcoming fashions, fashionistas, trends, and the not-so-trendy, going around. I’m a pretty crappy dresser no matter what I read. But its fun to pretend!

——————————————

53.  Blog 4 Mom (Name: Shellie): While mostly behind the scenes in 2009, Shellie hit the mainstream in controversial tweeting after the tragic loss of her son in December 2009. Her blog has now become a tour de force online. It will be interesting to see where her journey takes her in 2010.

——————————————

52. Another Ordinary Miracle (Name: Adrienne): Adrienne shares her beautiful story of bringing adoption into her family. Meet Owen and Lily, a little boy from Russia, and a little girl from Korea, who came a long way in their journey to be with their mommy and daddy. Touching and inspirational.

——————————————

51. Mom Spark (Name: Amy): Just like it says….a little spark in your day! Amy is actually more well known for her blog Mom Made That and its a great way to showcase mom blogs and businesses. We love the support!

——————————————

50. AccidentalMommies (Name: Kim): Kim, while you may or may not know her blog, is the genius behind 100s of mom blog tweaks and helps. She gives more of herself then anyone I know. For that, she rounds out my top #50. Without people like kim, the rest of us are just schmucks trying to look cool…she helps us pull it off. Spank you kimmy.

——————————————

49. The Daily Blonde (Name: Cheryl): Asshat Award? I’m only offended I have never been on this blog before. Cause its awesome. And what woman can pull off the hair cut she rocks? Her and Dooce. Thats about it. *jealous*

——————————————

48. Velveteen Mind (Name: Megan): Megan is actually a real writer. Not one of us that throws up words with poo-poo grammar. Which means you should thoroughly enjoy what she writes. Or atleast be able to decipher it.

——————————————

47. Mama Kat’s Losin It: (Name: Kat):I have always wondered what she is drinking in her header…wine? Vodka? Whatever it is, I hope she keeps it flowing because Mama Kat and her writing workshop single handedly provide blog topics all over the net. In fact, I’m pretty sure the blogosphere would collapse like the housing market if she up and quit that one day.

——————————————

46. Real Life Blog (Name: Sarah): Again, another blogger I have met in person and I *think* I scare her. Its OK, Sarah, I have that affect on people. She is the calm to my crazy and we have to have both kinds in the world, right? Get to know her as a person and stop by her blog weekly. She is going places…fo sho.

——————————————

45. Pajamas and Coffee ( Name: MaryMac): Someone once told me that Mary is a stalker online. And I’m not denying that could be true…but she uses the F word a lot on her blog and its  hilarious. Plus, she has good taste in books. Just please don’t stalk me. One lawyer a year is all I can afford.

——————————————

44. The Shewbridges:  (Name Lorie) Lorie is probably one of the most supportive bloggers I know. Everywhere I go on the net, she is there. She comments as if commenting was food and she was a starving cat. We need more bloggers like her, more supportive women like her, online. Nothing but love, baby.

——————————————

43. Scary Mommy Name: Jill): Time and time again Jill’s name comes up when asked “who do you visit the most” and that has to be a good thing! You know its funny that I always think that promos are taking over the blogosphere cause when you dive in super deep, there is some really fabulous content.

And this is one of those places.

——————————————

42. Petite Elefant (Name: Allison): Im sorry to send you to a blog that has a 6 foot tall (ok, so i don’t really know if she is 6 foot tall, but when you are 5 foot standing next to her, she is) gorgeous woman that writes for it, but unfortunately I have to. Her blog posts are just that good that Ill forgive her. Just this once. And the little elefant is so cute.

——————————————

41. Crazy Adventures in Parenting (Name: Lisa): Sometimes when I go to Lisas blog I feel like I am the one with 6 kids. Which means she is a good, no great, blogger. Lisa is also excellent about reciprocal comments and always interacts with her readers on her blog. Plus, I just like her. I met her, again at a conference (see they are worth going for that sometimes!), and she is blogo-fabulous.

I just made that word up.

——————————————

40. 5 minutes for mom (Names: Janice & Susan): At every conference, around every bend, its the dynamic duo Janice and Susan. I am quite sure I don’t need an introduction for these two moms, who have been around about as long as the blogosphere has been. Even if they think I wrote a blog about them…and I didn’t.

It really was some other blogger.

——————————————

39. Type A Mom (Name: Kelby); Hello. Its Kelby. Type A Mom. Type A Conference. 02983402938402874 Twitter friends. Kelby is one of the few bloggers I know that can as “big” as she is, but still sit down and shoot the sh*t with. In short, she is who she says she is, honest, but helpful, passionate, but kind. *hug* *tear*

——————————————

38.  Mom Generations (Name: Audrey): After Audrey started her 365 days of Fashion, she really took off. But I have known her much longer then that…you know those “remember whens”? We have those.

Which means I am famous by association.

——————————————

37. Nie Nie ( Name: Stephanie): Stephanie’s family was in a terrible plane crash and she is back to blogging, happy to be alive with her 4 children and husband. She is a practicing Mormon, includes real touching lifestyle photography, but I have to tell you that I cant figure out how to leave comments and that just blows. I really like to interact with the bloggers I read, and so this one leaves me a bit sour. I’m sure she probably gets too many that it overloads the system so Ill forgive this time. Comments or no comments, you really should add her to your reader.

——————————————

36. ExtraordinaryMommy ( Name: Danielle): Last year Danielle’s most memorable post was when a friend of hers saw her family Christmas card photo in Prague on an advertisement. It has to be hands down the BEST blog post I have ever read. But even before that blog post made her debut (and heathers family as semi-celebrities), heather was well known in the blogosphere for her mom TV shows and website. Hop on over and check her out!

——————————————

35. Playgroups are No Place for Children (Name: Jennifer): Jennifer has one of those blogs we love to hate because its witty, and funny, and cool stuff happens to her she can blog about. Plus, she writes about how you shouldn’t give up or compares yourself to others.

——————————————

34. Miss Britt (Name: Britt): I am not sure why Britt reminds me of like 1984 Madonna..you know, the “Gonna Dress you up in my Love” Madonna. The problem is, I am not nearly as cool as she is and we don’t hang in the same cliques, so she doesn’t know me, BUT i wish we were friends. In my head we are…the one where I’m the stalker? Hmm. Maybe that’s not in my head.

——————————————

33. Bookie Boo (Name: Leah): Straight out of the gate with her Mamavation program, Leah was everywhere- even in 2009 hot water at one point-and handled it fabulously. Every one loves her and she appears to love every one. Even more importantly she is making real progress in helping others help themselves. We call that inspiration.

——————————————

32. A Cowboys Wife (Name: Lori): Lori is a great blogger and she has her style all over her blog. Its awesome when you can really pick out who someone is just by going to their page and we have no doubt who Lori is. My only complaint is that she doesn’t blog enough! Its perhaps because she is spending time over on her second blog My Wooden Spoon, which includes a ton of food I will never ever be able to make on my own. But its fun to pretend.

——————————————

31. 13 and counting (Name: Sandi) How do you have 13 kids and nothing to write about? You don’t. You have lots, and lots, and lots of adventures and unlimited content. Which is why we love Sandi. Curl up with chips and a soda, cause you wont be getting up awhile as you weed through all of the posts. There was some recent drama on her site when one of her sons attempted suicide and he came on to blog about his experience. I thought it was a very brave thing to blog. Others said it was for attention only and how could she blog about her son, blah blah. I say, thank God we have people like her willing to take the risk to share a story that could help others.

——————————————

30. 3 Kids and Us (Name: Cat) I know Cat very well. That isnt the reason she made the list. She made the list because her blog tends to be a very well rounded mom blog that includes so much material that you feel like she is your next door neighbor…of course one you can regularly peek inside to see. From the gross diaper stories, to the heartwarming family hilarity, she has a bit of it all.

——————————————

29. Tip Junkie (Name: Lorrie) Hello. 13K subscribers. If you haven’t been, you have wasted a LOT of time already, so get. Go. Scoot. If you are like me and love to create things, but you dont have an original idea in your body, head over and really get a gander at the projects, activities, and best of all, inspiration, that looms on that blog.

——————————————

28. Ohana Mama (Name: Sarah): Aside from being incredibly gorgeous, Sarah lives in Hawaii, generally a vacation for most normal people. Appearing in guest spots on Momversations, her own up and coming product, and a soon to be travel blogger, Sarah has carved out a nice niche for the rest of us to dream over.

——————————————

27. Pretty Pink Chandelier (Name: Nicole): If you haven’t been by to Nicoles blog, you are seriously missing out. She is one cutting lose, funny, video filming, and heart writing, chick. Somehow between the laughs and the real emotional moments, I think she is someone that you just understand. And that’s pretty real sentiment just from a blog site. Btw, nicole, no one can spell ‘chandelier’. You might as well picked supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

——————————————

26. Dooce (Name: Heather): TRISHA! OMG. How could DOOCE be #26? You have lost all credibility. Sure. I know. But dooce is dooce and she is awesome and she really doesn’t need my numbers to tell her that. Besides she doesn’t even follow me on twitter. And she only returned my emails once. *which still felt like christmas*

——————————————

25. Yo Mamas Blog (Name: Yvonne): Funny. Funny. Funny. Don’t open her blog around your kids. Unless, well, you don’t care about them. Then by all means..flip on and turn to the snow man post. Guaranteed nightmares for the rest of their little lives.

——————————————

24. The Mogul Mom (Name: Heather): Heather provides some very solid advice on her blog. When I am looking for information about my business or blog, this is the first blog I pull up and search. She is also a coach and recently even directed me somewhere that could really help me out on a project. She is not only knowledgeable, her information comes tested, tried, and true. Put this one in your bookmarks.

——————————————

23. Skimbaco Lifestyle (Name: Katja): While visiting Katja in the past, her blog was a variety of content but as the time passed she became more and more focused. As a result, her quality has been impeccable, and the projects she has been involved in would give any mommy stars in her eyes. From red carpets to the Oscars, this is one mom leading the way.

——————————————

22. Skip to my Lou (Name: Cindy): Cindy has an amazing blog for those creative types out there. Her blog is perky, her pictures are helpful, and she is a must visit when you are cruisin’ and perusin’.

——————————————

21.  MomSpective: (Name: Julie) Julie does not get enough recognition for her blog. She is hella funny on facebook. If facebook was a blog, she would be #1.

And I don’t even believe that whole casting couch with Walmart thing.

I swear.

——————————————

20. Cutie Booty Cakes (Name: Renee): With some big Wii endorsements behind her, Renee has set the pace to grow her blog and change her life. She has been on trips, commercials, red carpet. I am not sure there was a blog event around that I didn’t see Renee on last year. Def bloggy elite in 2009.

——————————————

19. Resourceful mommy: (Name: Amy) Amy is the twitter reigning queen, but more then that, she is just a nice person. Amy has her hands in a million pots and all those pots turn to gold. You can expect a straight, albeit a politically correct one, shooter and she is worth the tweet..and the read.

——————————————

18.  To Think is To Create: (Name: Arianne): Beautiful layout, photography, and a simple to navigate blog, Arianne makes our top 100 with room to spare. Going from my blog to hers is like going from a crazy mall to a nice sunny beach. Sure, they are both fun, but you can really relax on her blog. She really balances her feelings and her lifestyle right along side any promotional type posts. Its not forced…she just is.

——————————————

17. Pioneer Woman (Name: Ree) Another one of those Blog Super Stars that really dont need to be holding down a top spot to know they are a top spot. Cookbooks, social pages, book tours. I’m not sure where Ree finds the time to even snap the pictures…but she does, and she does it well. Impressive blog and marketing to say the very, very least.

——————————————

16. Queen of Spain: (Name: Erin): Erin once told me her job was, how did she put it, to be the gatekeeper of the blogosphere? I don’t remember the exact words, but I knew what she was getting at. Erin is a balls to the wall Democrat that also writes for BlogHer and doesn’t exactly keep her opinions to herself.  And I saw her boobs on someones site. They were big.

——————————————

15. Creative Junkie (Name: Andrea) Andrea is an up and comer that you may, or may not, know. Her blog style is funny, witty, and comical. If you haven’t had a chance to stop into her world, its time you do.  Plus, she leaves comments on my blog, which I have to enjoy before all of you realize you need to shoot her straight to superstardom. Don’t go to her blog before your done with this list..cause you wont be coming back.

——————————————

14. Moosh In Indy (Name: Casey): Casey once told me she is shy..and to her credit, she does appear that way. But her blog is raw and real. Its some of the best writing on the net. I wouldn’t lie about something this important.

——————————————

13. Steam me up, Kid ( Name: Becky): This blog is pee-in-your-pants disturbingly funny.

——————————————

12. No Time For Flashcards (Name: Allie): For moms who actually do stuff with their kids and can prove it. This site is a mecca of coolness, wrapped up in easy to follow categories, that give you a reason to interact with your kids. And not just for dinner either.

——————————————

11. Boobs, Injuries, and Dr Pepper (Name: Crystal): What Can I say that hasn’t already been said, blogged about, hated against, twittered about. Crystal is damn near one of the most REAL bloggers out there.

I don’t care what you say.

——————————————

10. Jessica Gottlieb (Name: Jessica): Referred to (atleast behind her back) as the Israeli Army of Twitter, Jessica Gottlieb makes zero apologies for telling you to take your snack cakes and twitter parties and shoving them up your…well, she would never say that. In middle 2009, Jessica and I had a public falling out where she upset me so bad I quit twitter for 2 months. Now we talk on the phone. Funny how that crap happens. And on her 2nd, 3rd(?) Dr Phil show in 2009, she made a splash in America’s households as well.

——————————————

9. Momdot (Name: Trisha): There is little doubt that 2009 was this blogs year. From obscurity to fame overnight, I made more then a few splashes last year. 22 mainstream articles, national news organizations, radio interviews, and more…you say you want a revolution? It started here. Sorry about that.

——————————————

8. Poop On Peeps (Name: Chicken Liver) Truth be told..we don’t really know this bloggers name. We don’t even agree with everything she says. And we certainly don’t like that she uses a fake name. That being said…the blog has a lot of valid points and says the stuff you wish you could say. Am I right?

We have been informed she has closed her blog after 3 years…no, i wont be adding someone else in this spot.

7. Barefoot Foodie ( Name: Brittany) Even though Brittany  stopped being my friend in public, (though I still squiggle her name in hearts on my trapper keeper) after I called her friend a douche (and he was being one), Im going to list her because she is a spectacular blogger. Her italics are in all the rights spots and I just get her. And I’m still hoping she puts up a nude some day.

——————————————

6. My Charming Kids (Name: Jennifer): Don’t be fooled by the fact that she fell 5 spots from our 2008 Top Mom Blog List, fool you. She was our #1…the only direction she could go was this one. Her content, drama, pictures, appearances, all of it for 2009 were right on target. Love her or hate her, the fact is you know her. And that is why she claims a top spot out of our 100.

——————————————

5.  Hope for Peyton (Name: Anissa): Well known already, Anissa shot to superstardom online when the bloggy world came to a halt for prayers, donations, and minute by minute social networking updates on the stroke that sent Anissa Meyhew to the hospital for months. Her husband took over her blog and did it well, combining wit and reality that made this blog an overnight success and one of the top blogs of 2009. We are happy to report that Anissa is home and on her way to recovery.

——————————————

4.  Sphors are Multiplying (Name: Heather): After a tragic year, Heather took her online notoriety and used it to help her, and others, heal in the death of her daughter Maddie. one of the first widespread blogosphere campaigns that cultivated into a massive support group, Maddie Sphor is one little girl that will never be forgotten. Heather also made several speaking appearances and welcomed her newest child in just a few mere weeks ago. Congrats.

——————————————

3. Bakerella (Name: Angie): Aside from being eye candy, this blog is pure REAL candy. Oozes Candy. And Cakes. And Goodies. I don’t even know half the ingredients she talks about. I’m convinced she makes them up. Nonetheless, have your bookmarks ready.

——————————————

2. Deal Seeking Mom: (Name: Tara)  Tara has one of the most widely visited mom blogs on the net and while you may not know her by name, and no, she isn’t a content writer but a niche writer, there is no doubt that she has taken over large.

——————————————

1. The Bloggess (Name: Jenny): Sex. Drugs. Teen Fans. Wigs. Weird internet searches. ..so there ya have it.  All the larvette you ever wanted.

Want to compare this list to our Top 50 Mom Blogs of 2008?

P.S. Btw, I learned a lot doing this list. A lot about blogs…I always do. Ill be doing a post coming up about what makes a blog stand out. After you visit 100s of blogs, you start to “get it”.  But it will be on Top Mom Blogger, not MomDot.

If you enjoyed this post, please consider leaving a comment or sharing with your favorite site. My two favorite ways to share great finds are Facebook and StumbleUpon. Thank you so much for visiting!

  1. If you ever compiled another list like this, Nanny to Mommy needs to be considered! A funny, down to earth blog that talks about the realities of how hard it is to take care of a child. Talks about PPD, losing the baby weight, breastfeeding a baby with lip tie, and so much more!

    http://www.nannytomommy.com

  2. Super great list… but I am wondering whats its based on? Traffic? Alexa? Twitter?? If so some of them seem out of order.

Also, in doing some comparisons, my blog has a higher alexa then half the list.. so my next question would be, who the heck can I send cookies to too get on the list???? :)

    *kiddin*

    Kinda.

    Blessings-

  3. Hey, I just found myself on this list! Woot! Thanks for including me! And I ain’t skeered of you, girl! {dukes up}

  4. Just wanted to let you know about an error I found….for #29 tip junkie, the link goes to mommychronicles….which is #84.

  5. I’m so glad Jenny got top spot!

She is amazingly hilarious, so real and such an angel at heart.

  6. Great list. Thanks. It’s kind of like a who is who of blogging.

  7. I’m equal parts shocked and flattered. I honestly don’t know what to say except for thank you.

  8. I just read your list, and thank you so much Trisha for including me in this amazing list of women, and thank you for your nice words. I don’t feel I belong in a top 100 list of any kind, there are so many other amazing women that would deserve the spot.

  9. Holy crap, I don’t think I’ve ever made a list before! Thanks! Someone I was so happy to see on the list is The Shewbridges, Lori is the best!

  10. Great list, happy to know I am reading a good chunk of these ladies and I now have a whole new list of those to get to know (or at least check out)

    yay me on being 100…..LOL

  11. First of all, I’m 5’9″, but sometimes I feel 6 feet tall. It’s okay, I’ve come to terms with my tallness, it’s an asset once you’re past the 10th grade. I think.

Thanks for the mention, I love the list! What a great group of women, I’m honored to be amongst them.

  12. Yay me, I’m number 100. Woot Woot. ;-) .

What a fantastic list of blogs. I actually follow the majority of them, but look forward to checking out those that I don’t already read.

  13. thank you so much. I’m honored to be on the list with so many talented ladies.

  14. My favorite blogspot is the princess and her hair.

  15. Looks like I just found a bunch of new blogs to read. Yay!

  16. Thank you…oh my goodness…this is such a nice surprise. Although I’m a mom of 5, I always think Moms don’t really connect with me because I don’t have babies in diapers anymore–and I don’t know what to say about that except….I’m done with poop. I do, however, stay up all night writing because that’s what I love to do and that keeps a nice roof over our heads…because the ex is a major AssHat so I support my family alone.

Oh, wait, this isn’t my blog, it’s a comment. Thank you so much for thinking of me and if you would like my haircut, I use Conair scissors, $9.99 at Rite Aid or CVS. Bend over, snip snip snip and you’re done. It’s free, it works and I always look like I just woke up. Which is partly true.

Love being on this list. You rock.
    Cheryl

  17. I feel pretty cool about knowing a large number of those ladies… I agree with you in that they are all wonderful in their own ways… except for Moosh in Indy. She is dreadful and mean to me. And she beats me.

  18. Totally agree that The Bloggess should be #1!

  19. This is a fantastic list!! You’ve definitely got some of my favs and I can’t wait to check out the others! Great job!

  20. I am so happy Lorie’s blog made it onto your list. She is the biggest sweetheart! I love visiting her blogs as well as reading all the comments she leaves on mine!

I can’t wait to check out some of the other blogs I am not too familiar with. What’s this Dooce blog, I don’t think I have heard about that one…hmmm….kidding, totally kidding!

    Thanks for compiling this list!

  21. Wow! I am honored to be among these fabulous bloggers! And bloggers who all have REAL NAMES! :)

Thank you so much for including my blog on the Top 100 list!!

    xoxo
Jen (see? McMommy is so much more memorable than the most popular girl name of 1978, isn’t it?)

  22. Great list. I love to read new writers and it’s handy to have some recommendations. The Bloggess is one of my favourite writers and it usually her who makes me snort my coffee from laughing.

  23. Go 76!!!!! Nice list Trisha! We’re devoted Princess Hairstyles fans over here, so I’m so impressed to see you recognize her on your list!! yay!!!

Awesome blog list, too! I’m totally looking forward to reading up on all these exciting blogs!

  24. Heh. I think it’s funny that you actually have at least five practicing Mormons on your list besides Nie, myself included.

It’s all in our plan to overtake the world.

Thanks for the kind words darling.

    • HA!! That really is funny, girl. I’m one of those Mormon’s but I don’t want to take over the world – just embellish it bit. ;)

Trish – Thank you SO much for the mention and I’m completely honored to be amongst this fabulous list of women. {{hugs}} You’ve got excellent taste in bloggers – many of these are my favs as well!

      Laurie
      (Tip Junkie)

  25. you made me LMAO. My ‘real’ name is Victoria. But you can TOTES call me VDog.

Thanks so much for the shout out!

  26. This list is full of The Awesome. And I heart you. Madly.

  27. You have to be the first woman to ever use the word nice in any sort of capacity when referring to me. I generally get words like, um, FERAL.

And this list ain’t no chum, darling. Thanks for including me.

  28. Hey I’ll take the spot of #100! Great list with some that I recognize but a lot I will be checking out! Awesome list but must have taken hours to prepare! Well done!!

  29. I’m #100! :) I’ll take that. Ha! Great list, Trisha!

  30. There are so many awesome Mom Blogs out there, it is impossible to include them all. But we are honored that you did include us in your list. Thanks.

  31. This *is* a great list! Although Bossy was a bit slack-jawed then sad to read her own review; she assures you there must have been a misunderstanding — Bossy has found, with advancing age, OY, it always pays to look a little deeper before judging. Preoccupation is the word that comes to mind surrounding that Nikon party, and cow herding for photo opps… and an embarrassing interview with Carson Kressley Bossy was utterly unprepared for… Bossy has never iced anyone in her life; she just did NOT attend that kind of high school.

    • Its ok bossy, you didnt know me and had friends to meet up with. Trust me, totally NOT offended here. Sarcastic text is hard to achieve online without lots of those italics and **. In fall fairness, I am a slack commenter, so i didnt expect you to sit down and have a glass of Champagne or anything.

      :-)

  32. Holy shit…I made the list AND I outranked Dooce???? I’m sweating like a mother over here. It’s happy sweat. Just FYI.

    Thank you for including me!!

  33. Thrilled! Honestly! But I had no idea until someone told me about this. Thank you! I don’t know what to say.

  34. Shirley K. says:

GREAT LIST! Can only imagine the efforts of your search You may have to go to 200 in 2011 ;-)

I love Crazy Adventures in Parenting!

    Where is BabyMommaBlog.com?

    Shirl

  35. –>Great list and there are many blogs I’ve never been to before. This page is bookmarked for when I’m supposed to be working in the office.

  36. Trisha,

    Thanks for listing me.

I have indeed closed up shop. I have family needs that surpass the need to tell it like it is. There is a need for that place, and I’m sure someone will fill the slot.

  37. Oh, Trish, thank you SO much for including my little blog on your list. I was shocked when I found out. I was in tears when I read what you said about me. I just love to visit other blogs and make friends, I feel like I have met some fabulous people and have really connected.
This is a group of people that I am truly proud to be among! Thank you! :-)

P.S. Thank you Karen for saying such a nice thing also.

  38. Oh and Bacon is my Lover is Heather :-)

  39. Sweet! What an awesome list! There are LOTS for me to check out.

And thanks for making me #100. Heh. ;)

  40. So I just gotta know- what’s wrong with hosting on blogger? What am I missing? Fill me in!

Also, I’m not sure your description of my blog is all that fitting, especially for 2009. I’m not a tipster, product pusher or much of an advice giver. I just write about my life and motherhood!

    I enjoyed reading the list!

    Steph

    • steph, just seemed everything i read on your blog was about some cool baby product, but to be honest, thats the part i was went to read..some of the slings, etc so it was my personal perception of what i enjoyed about your blog last year. And honestly, just a small tidbit collectively about everyone. It took over 20 hours to do this list so I wasnt overly comprehensive. :-)

  41. Awesome list!

  42. Lorie of #44 is awesome! I love her!!

  43. Great list Trisha. Entertaining and well organized. Way to go!

  44. Thank you so much for including me and mentioned both of my sites. You rock and I’m honored to be grouped with other amazing ladies.

  45. Awesome list! I have been honored to meet some of those awesome ladies and they deserve to be there!

I strive to make a list one day. :)

    Keep up the great work!

  46. Thanks for including me Trisha! It has certainly been a great ride – we started our blogs around the same time and MomDot holds a special place in my heart. Thank you again, I’m honored!

  47. Amazing list! I have bookmarked these all and will be visiting. I haven’t heard of a lot, but I can see why they made your list! I am honored to have made this list!

  48. DualMom says:

What a great list! And quite a few I do not read. Bacon Is My Lover, yeah I read her s*** faithfully because she makes me pee my pants. What? It’s fun…

  49. I am so honored to be included. Really. Thank you. My first list!!

    Ann

  50. Well, Trisha…THIS was quite an insomnia-driven surprise :) .

Not only to make a “Top 100″ blog list (apparently I’m NOT so cool ;) ), but to find out I’m officially not on a Disney list. I just wish I knew what in the heck you meant by that!!

    (???)

Thank YOU for including me. You have no apologies to make about this taking so long to compile; that’s a heckuva lot of linking and I’m impressed you took the time to cover so many diverse blogs.

    :)

    • robin, maybe i mixed you up with my blogo-gossip. I could have sworn it was you…wait. Hmm, now i cant. It wasnt you complaining not invited to the disney thing? Shit, who was that.

I am going to have to search 2 months back in twitter now.

      Prego-brain without the baby. ROFL.

      Ill fix it.

      ~Trisha

      • Hehe, nope, it wasn’t me, but I’m glad to know it was from a Twitter convo, lol. When I first read what you wrote (and remember, it was 3 or 4 in the morning, I think), I thought, “Great! There’s some uber-secret-but-leaked Disney Black List I’m on but totally oblivious to.”

        • i figured it out..it was pundit mom. I am now 99.9% sure. Damn it all if a joke falls flat cause i put it on the wrong blogger. Hey, it was a big list..i did my best. ROFL

  51. Great list! I visited quite a few of them! :)

  52. Oh my gosh, I’m THERE. I honestly didn’t expect it. Thanks so much! I am definately checking out other blogs that are listed. Some of these people sound hilarious.

  53. Man I got all excited thinking number 83 was me at first lol

  54. Great list! Maybe next year I can make the list for being inspirational? I’m going to run a virtual 5K training clinic for the Blogher 5k Fun Run for any bloggers who want to learn to run and lose a few lbs before BlogHer. Sadly, I’m probably not going myself because my sponsor has fallen through. But that doesn’t mean I won’t be there in spirit/twitter cheering everyone on!

  55. Thanks for this list! I’ll have to check them out! I’d love for you to visit me and let me know what I’d have to do to have a chance at this list next year!
    Hope you’ll stop by!
    Jody

  56. Great list! Lots I recognize and new ones to check out.
Glad you added Andy. I came across her blog shortly before she showed up here, and she has been cracking me up ever since.
now excuse me , I have to find my lint brush, I am suddenly all covered in fuzzy wool again ????

  57. Thanks for including me! I feel like I have “arrived!” LOL! And I was checking out some of the other blogs on the list and found Mommyologist…I totally agree….SOOOO CUTE!

  58. Wow! Really? I’m honored…there are some extremely amazing bloggers on this list. Thank you. Truly. Thank you.

  59. Thanks T! Great list! I’m honored that people even read my nonsense.

  60. Cool!!!! I came in at #100!!!! I’m “YOU”. LOL! Thanks Trisha for adding that last part.

Great list. It’s inspried me to blog better and reach more people so next year I can crack the top 100 with my actual blog name, instead of “YOU”. LOL!!!!!

I’m shocked at the order of these. I really am. WOW!!!!

Now I have plenty of new blog to check out.

  61. Congrats to all the winner who made the list!

  62. Great. Now my kids aren’t going to see me for a week because I’m going to be reading through all of these blogs! It’s ok, I’ll just tell my husband it’s all Trisha’s fault.

  63. OMG, thank you Trisha! To be among the amazing women on this list, wow! What an honor!

And your descriptions LOL Love ‘em!

  64. I think I broke some sort of exclamation rule with that last comment.

  65. Awwwww, Trisha! I’m SO honored!! I was wondering if you were going to come out with list this year. I’m so glad you did! And, thank you!

  66. Um, I think you forget someone (and yes, it takes chutzpah to say that).

  67. Thanks for compiling this list, will RT now. What a great list of mommy bloggers you’ve compiled:thanks for including me and all other rising mommy bloggers as number 100 on your list. Back to blogging now, as I have an event to cover at Neiman-Marcus tonight…

  68. Great list. I met several of this at Blissdom and fell in love with Mooshinindy!

  69. Wow! I am so excited to be #12 !! I don’t think I have ever even been on a list before , at least not one with such awesome blogs. So many I love and read are on this list and a few new ones for me to check out too!

    Thanks Trisha :)

  70. I have never made the good list before…. EVER! Thank you! I am speechless. Thanks to you I have found so many fabulous new blogs to read!!

  71. Thrilled to see The Creative Junkie on your list! Andrea has been cracking me up for years.

  72. Interesting and admirable list. I often wonder how moms keep their blogs up to date and balance lives at home with little ones. I hope to grow up to become one of these top mom blogs someday…perhaps when my kids get a bit older?? Lately, microblogging via twitter and an occasional update to my parenting, politics, reviews and more blog are all I can keep up with.

  73. Thank you for including my blog on this list—so many amazing bloggers out there, and now I have a few more to check out! Thanks again.

  74. Wow, thank you so much. I am so happy to have made it on list. Little me at #100. I can’t stop smiling. Next year I am for #99. In all honesty, congratulations to all of those listed. You all deserve it!

  75. Wow, really?! Really?! Thanks Trisha! Love the list and have a ton of reading to do now…need.more.time!

  76. –>Great list of some bloggers I regularly visit, Bossy, BarefootFoodie and ScaryMommy but many others I’ll have to check out.
    Thanks for sharing!

  77. OMG, Trisha!!! Thank you SO much for including me in your Top 100 Mom Blogs at the very sweet spot of #24. :D

It was my pleasure to help you – and please keep me posted and let me know if you need anything else to succeed. ;D

Wow – again, thank you SO much. Total serendipity.

    Heather

  78. Congrats ladies!! I read many of your Blogs and they’re fabulous! I’m new to the Blogging forum, but I love it all!!

Great stuff ladies! Maybe one day I’ll end up here! LOL!

    Erica Diamond
    http://www.WomenOnTheFence.com

  79. That is a simply fantastic list! So well thought out.

    Thanks!

  80. Oh wow! Thanks Trisha! It’s nice to be on a good list for once!

  81. Trisha,

You were on my list of “ohmygodIhavetomeether” at BlogHer 09 but low & behold, our paths never crossed. Better luck next time.

    Thanks for the include.

  82. I am speechless (kind of) and Thank you. Do I have to go get pregnant now, cause it will be fun to try? My husband is fondly called The Dish and my secret spy name is Marla.

    Thank you so much!

  83. What an honor to be mentioned here! You’ve complied a great list and I can’t wait to check some of these out that I’m not familiar with.

  84. Wow Trisha- thanks a lot! I am honored as well :) Great list of bloggers!

  85. Oh, and?

I love how not sucky up this list is. Seriously. You make me want to sit down and gossip with you because I have a feeling you would SO SPILL YOUR GUTS. lol

  86. Hey, dork? We met at BlogHer last year. In fact, I’m pretty sure we either shared a limo or arrived to the Nikon party at damn near the same time and shared an elevator. But clearly YOU don’t remember meeting ME!

NOW WHO IS TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL, HMMMMM???

    he he he

(and I’m going to have that song in my head all day now, thanks!)

    • I remember you. LOL! I dont think sarcasm is one of my strong suits. You asked me why I didnt change the word “grocheries” on my blog when Avitable blogged about it. It was raining. You looked cute.

  87. Um…I am shocked, more-than-surprised, completely blushing, and ÜBER honored, to be on this list in the company of such truly sublime bloggers! I honestly never expected to be. Thank you. I have to admit, I cried a little.

    Thank you!

  88. Wow! It’s like this is high school and you’ve just done all my homework. Now I know who to study up on before BlogHer! I WON’T look like an ignorant neo-phyte after all!! Ok, so maybe I still will, but seriously, I will comp you a drink – or donut – or something for compiling this compilation on your computer. (yes – I’m that talented).
Oh, and you RULE for adding Vapid. She rocks. We’re starting a gang of gangs together. Next week.
Anyway, thank you! I can’t even begin to imagine how long it took you to do this!
That’s some covetable dedication right there.

  89. Many of my personal favourites are on this list!

  90. Victoria says:

Dannggg! Great list. You really set yourself up for a challenge but I think this turned out great. Let’s Do 200 next yr?

  91. I’m speechless that you’ve included me….I see I make you speechless as well! I’ll consider that a win :D

  92. Holy mother of 99! Thanks Trisha!

  93. Wonderful list! Lots that I’ve never visited – but will!

  94. That was so sweet of you to include me Trisha, thank you.

By the way, Maria Bailey and I have a date next week so maybe you’ll consider moving me up to 87 or so?

  95. Cool list Trisha! Love that you expanded it to 100!! I will have to check out all of the ones I do not know yet!

  96. What an AWESOME list Trisha!
    Kas

  97. Congratulations to the Top 100! What an incredible list of talented and creative women!
Hoping to learn from you all! Thank you for sharing your hearts and experiences with us!

    http://www.4tunate.net

  98. Great list! I’ll have to check out some of them that I don’t know.

  99. I love this. So many bloggers I recognize that I didn’t last year and lots to go check out and discover.

Definitely honored to be on the list and I love your description! Smooches!

  100. What a great list, there are quite a few blogs up there that I so love and I can see why they made the Top 100!!

  101. I am honored to be part of this list, girl, I am in AWESOME company.

And, I rather enjoyed our little debate, we should do it again. But, let’s change it up a bit and pick something nobody ever talks about…spanking? abortion? fat babies? blog cliques? waterboarding?

And how much more public do I need to get than this damn tattoo of your twitter handle across my boobs?

    Sigh.

Thanks again, and I hope we get to talk longer in NYC!

  102. Wow, thank you so much. I’m honored to have made this list with so many amazing women/blogs. I loved how real your list and descriptions are – now I’m off to find some new bloggy reads!

  103. Aw, thanks for the love. Amazing list!

    xo
    Arianne

  104. Really? THAT made you quit twitter?

Well, I’m glad you have my number (literally and figuratively) and I love being in company. Thanks for thinking of me here.

  105. I am so honored I made this list! Who do I have to not sleep with to make it to #1?

  106. Great list – but you forgot the best resource for accomplished working moms – Executive Moms! (www.executivemoms.com)

  107. Great list.

    P.S. VDog is Victoria. :)

  108. Best #1 ever.

  109. Wow…I missed out. Poop on Peeps has a farewell post up…nothing else is viewable. Sorry I missed out!

  110. Good list. Glad to see some of my favorite reads on there.

  115. Thanks for including me Trisha! I’m honored to be part of your list among so many other awesome bloggers. XXOO

  116. OMG, you crack me up… I’m honored to be in such great company though. Thanks!

  117. Great list Trish! Someday, someday…Hey I have another 10 months to dazzle you. ;)
