Trisha Inspired CPSIA Product

[private]

I have to say I am ultra flattered. I received this email today and about spit my Dr. Pepper on my computer screen in laughter. If you haven’t heard about the CPSIA legislation and how freaking stupid it is, you have been living under a social networking rock. (And hold your horses, I’m not saying we should have lead based toys, but the blanket law they made can kiss my rhinestone underwear.)

Check out this email and then buy a rhinestone bandaid for a momprenuer  you know affected. She is sure to get a chuckle out of it. You know, maybe we should all send one to our nearest government official. Maybe they can put a bandaid on the economy and the housing market.

Your right…it won’t help. But it sure would look pretty.

Dear Trisha,

Your hilarious post the other day about making a t-shirt in rhinestones to say F-U to the CPSIA inspired a product at oopdoohug.com! Well, the product was already there, but I’ve changed the message for those “wounded” by the CPSIA.

The item is a designer band-aid embedded with Swarovski crystals. It’s one of the items in our new (oopdoo)grams — which by the way can be sent to Virtual Friends without you supplying the shipping information. Here’s a picture of the bandage. I’d like to send you one!

By the way — ordering for a virtual friend is easy. The gifter goes to the site, chooses the item, pays for it without giving actual shipping information. We recognize it as an order for a virtual friend and zip you back an e-mail with the order number and a link to give to your friend to have them supply the shipping information for the order. They don’t see your information or what has been purchased for them. You don’t see their information.[/private]

    @ Maggie M:
Because Rhinestones are one of the big supposedly lead things. So no child items can have rhinestones in them. LOL! I am sure they have or will create rhinestones w/o lead at some point but i know this was a big deal and threatened a lot of mom based companies.

Rhinestone Band Aid? I don’t get it? I know all about the CPSIA Legislation. I’m one of those many readers who emailed and wrote to Senators, Congressmen and women (you should have seen the stupid response letter I received from Diane Feinstein, what an IDIOT!) Sorry, I think I threw it away recently-I had it on my desk for two months and couldn’t stand to look at it any more. Talk about clueless….she went into all this blab about protecting our children from lead poisoning, and that, though the legislation was “difficult” for them to draft so that everyone would be happy, the legislation is overall good for the people. She didn’t even address my issues about etsy stores, the unemployment issues or the cost of having hair accessories inspected for $6000! That lady is senile and needs to be voted OUT of office.

Anyway, I still don’t get the Rhinestone Band Aid fix, but if mocks the CPSIA Law, I’m all for it.

You work at supersonic speeds! I sent that e-mail to you at 12:34 (I had to go check) and you had this post up 52 minutes later. I have to meet you in person some day…I bet you are what my Gram would have called “a pistol.” Thanks for the post and supplying the inspiration in the first place!

This is great! Love the idea of sending it to the officials or a mompreneur that’s been effected!

And we love our (oopdoo) in our house!!
