Maybe it’s because we shave there (tell me exactly why women genetically have hair under their arms?) and use deodorant there and it’s the source of all evil and sweat. Underarms remind me that I am not a lady.
Cause ladies do not sweat. Or Fart.
But one of the main reasons I don’t care to expose my arms to anyone, which is ironic since I am sharing with you now, is because they always look weird. Due to shaving often, women often experience darkness or redness right under our arms, making sure that when you are in your strapless summer dress that you are totally self conscious.
And its nothing we can really help! Simply put, shaving causes your under arms to lose moisture which leads to dry skin, which leads to inflammation and redness. It’s a cycle that never ends.

After years of suffering with ingrown hairs, I had laser hair removal done. Best thing I ever did!!!! After 7 years, I’m going to get a touch up done because a few hairs have come back but it’s been a huge success.
I have the redness and bumps every time i shave. i use a secret brand that’s supposed to thin out & soften underarm hair. i’d say it works, but i still have irritation from shaving. it would be great if i could find something that would prevent this.
I would kill to have your current armpits! I suffer from all of the above…and it’s so hard to make armpits looks good..seriously. I will be first in line to try this deodorant – guaranteed.

I always wondered about the discoloration thing – I had no idea it was related to shaving, but it makes sense. Kind of like a 5 ‘o clock shadow for the underarms? LOL. I personally think you have pretty photogenic armpits, but I’ll be curious to see what your experience is!

I love this post and I love Doev because they celebrate real beauty! Who ever said what our underarms were supposed to look like anyway? Who told us we have to weigh 90 pounds to look good? I already use Dove because it’s just THAT amazing but I’ve never heard of this type of Dove. I’ll be shopping for in a couple week so I’ll grab ClearTone instead of my usual Invisible Solid Powder.

Well yeah lol. Ingrown hairs anywhere are literally a pain!
I’m looking forward to seeing how it works out for you. I don’t know how many times I’ve switched deodorant because they all end up making me look rashy – especially in the summer.
When we lived in California I actually had to stop using deoderant for a few days a couple times a year because they would become so dry and irritated. Really sucked (or stunk) in 100 degree heat with no a/c (we lived in the mountains so most houses didn’t have a/c)
Hey im on the gulf, so I totally feel you. Some days at the beach i start to get paranoid.
I never realized how ugly my armpits were until I got laser hair removal and that darkness went away. Now I basically live in tank tops and sleeveless shirts! I will have to check out the new Dove deodorant anyway because it sounds awesome!

Yeah, full body. LOL It makes a HUGE difference! My underarms still get a few hairs, but they are more like peach fuzz.
I shave about once a month!

My whole body is grossly dry. I currently use Dove, but not this kind. It looks interesting. My husband has discolored under arms and funky.
Does Dove have boy products? “Men” products? I think they do! Maybe there is something similar you can slip in his christmas stocking
you’re aren’t bad at all but I’m curious to see the changes. Mine are darker and I hate it. Let’s not talk about the jiggly part around it, does Dove have something for this???
While I fully agree underarms are not hot, I do also believe Dove helps them be that much sexier.

I’ve never really noticed it but since you mentioned it, I had to go look and yep, my armpits are a bit darker than the rest of my skin. It will be interesting to see if the Clear Tone makes a difference. I use Clinical and love it!
I don’t think I’ve ever really looked under my arm. I’m sorta blind without my glasses . Now you have me curious I may have to go look in the mirror. frightening thought though

Ha! I do have to say though that a large percentage of women in my town do not shave their pits. Seriously. For us darker skinned gals with dark hair, the bumps and dark marks are even worse – at least I think so – so I can’t wait to see your after photo.

That first picture scared me. LOL Why oh why do women grow hair on their legs, underarms and occasionally, face?? And I hate shaving. Uggg…. I definitely will be trying out this deodorant.

Truth be told I’ve never really paid much attention to my underarms except for the sweating part which is horrible so I have to use the clinical strength version which works quite well.

I will take that as a compliment of my skills.
My underarms look bruised. My dermatologist suggests using a pumice stone because the discoloration comes from skin buildup. (so he says) I wonder if this would help me any, because I haven’t noticed ANY change with the pumice stone. :/
Normally my underarms are fine. However, pregnancy makes them darker & gives me red bumps & even makes my hair grow faster to where by the end of the day I have stubble. Thankful that will be over here in just a week BUT when you are hot & pregnant – the only thing you want to wear are sleeveless dresses or tops and sexy underarms are not what i have right now……!
