Last week we shared with you one of MomDots writers story and why she wasn’t doing her contest posts with you all…you can catch up here. Heather is one of our writers and one of our friends. We have known her for many years and known Sophie as a part of her, watching her grown. This really pains us. Heather wants you to know her story so you can be cautious with your childs picture. Heather recently left us this news and we wanted to update you:
So. I told you all that my myspace account was hacked and pictures of Sophie and I were taken and used on a nasty website.
Well. Saturday night A team of US marshalls raided the mans home and found 47 pictures of girls between the ages of 2 and 5 on the mans wall. Sophie was one of the 47. They also found 283 child pornography tapes and a plethora of evidence on his computer.
He was unable to be found until I got a call earlier saying he’s been apprehended.
Here is the scary part. He lived 3 miles from my house. They caught him at a gas station down the street from me.
Thank the lord this sick f**k was caught. I’ve barely slept this whole time worrying and knowing he was out there with all my information.
If he is convicted on all charges he is facing 75 years in prison.

Yeah, he’s been apprehended! The sad part is that there are still plenty of sick perverts out there, so please be careful about posting pictures of your family members, especially kids. I hope he gets sentenced to the max!

Its great to hear that some sort of justice has been done. Although its too late for those in the tapes I assume. I ran across a sick account on flickr at one point, many detailed images of a man in sexual participation with children. I called my local police to see what I could do and the man told me there was no department for that. Hey, thanks for the help! I called a man I know on the police force in the next town over and he took my information. I sure with I knew what happened with that!
God, what a nightmare. I hope it all works out.
Oh my word, that is scary! Thank you for the warning…i watermark all my photos…but even so, I think I’ll just remove them completely…I hate that these demented kinds of people are out there. I’m glad they caught him! He’ll hopefully rot in prison for this!
hence the reason I have never, nor would I ever post anything about my child, other then I have one, nor about my family or home. glad he’s caught.

HOLY SH*T!!! Only 3 miles away and a pic of her daughter was on his wall??? That makes me so sick and so thankful that they got the scum bag dirt ball useless piece of flesh….he better go away for that long! hope you are able to sleep better tonight!

Oh wow, so is it someone she knew or knew her (considering he lived 3 miles from her) or did he do some sort of search to find people in his area? I am soo glad he was caught.

that is so scary. i’m glad they caught him. i really had thought about putting pics of my kids on my blogs because it seemed like everyone else had no problems. you hear one story like this, and you change your mind real quick.
