Walmart is the Devil

I went in today to get felt. That’s it. Two yards of felt. And some fraycheck. I wont mention that it took me ringing the craft bell twice and then stomping over to the car area to get them to page someone to cut my felt and it took about 15 minutes. But what I will mention is after I had gotten my material, I headed over to get some milk. Conveniently, the milk is on the OTHER side of the store. As I am walking through the store, I see $5 long sleeve shirts. $5 is a good deal, compared to Gymboree, and Charlotte needs some winter clothes. It is dipping below 70 here now at night. So I pick up two shirts…and a pair of pants…….and a velour jogging set.

But THAT’s it. Now I have 2 yards of felt, fraycheck, 2 shirts, 1 pair of pants, and a suit set.

Off to the milk. I get the milk and whats that…….OMG, EGGNOG IS OUT!!! How could I leave eggnog behind? I mean, I cannot. It only comes out one time a year. Now I have 2 yards of felt, fraycheck, 2 shirts, 1 pair of pants, a suit set, a gallon of milk, and an eggnog container.

Have I yet mentioned I don’t have a cart?

As I am walking out of dairy I walk by children’s food aisle and remember that Charlotte has NO sippy cups. I prefer she uses those in the living room, so I grab two packs of disposables.

2 yards of felt, fraycheck, 2 shirts, a pair of pants, jogging suit set, gallon of milk, carton of eggnog, and 2 four pack containers of sippy cups. No cart.

ON my way up to the front, I walk by tape….I am out of tape because of the Balloon incident the other day when I had to leverage the mop onto the vaccuum to get the balloon down.

2 yards of felt, 1 tube of fraycheck, 2 shirts, 1 pair of pants,  a jogging suit set, gallon of milk, carton of eggnog, and 2 four pack containers of sippy cups, and tape. And a partridge in a pear tree.

    That sounds so familiar.

I would love to send hubby but everytime I do he calls me about every…single…thing…on…the…list. And hangs up in between! I would rather stay on the phone the whole time or just do it myself! He may save money but I save time and time is money right?

  3. Mommy Zabs says:

This is what happens to me at target but the bill is bigger. Can’t walk out without spending 100!!! I have been banned there by my husband now. Maybe I’ll go to walmart ;)

  4. Audrey says:

Everytime I go to Walmart I walk out of there with at least $100 worth of junk. It sucks.

  5. Shannon says:

I know how you feel. I am that way with HEB and Wal-Mart. I can go to HEB (grocery store) to get a gallon of milk and end up with a $120 grocery bill. Go figure!

  6. Krystyn says:

    Walmart and Target…totally the devil

  7. Michelle says:

Oh ya, I know what you mean.. I leave with things I never knew I needed!!!!

  8. AJ says:

They get me every time too!

  9. This same thing always happens to me. I try my best to avoid Walmart for as long as possible!!!

  10. Gina says:

Oh yeah, I totally send hubby to Wal-Mart now. With a detailed list, mind you. He always comes out way cheaper than me.

  11. LOL Sadly, I do the same thing all of the time.

  12. Sarah says:

I pretend that the cart is for child containment purposes but it’s really to catch all the extra stuff. I went to the grocery store for milk last night and came out with milk, 3 bags of candy, 3 mugs, 3 candles, 4 mini coffees, a box of tea and 2 bags of rice. Yeah go ahead and figure that one out!

  13. Send your hubby in for a few items and you’ll never know what you were missing! Unless he is like this dork at the store the other night – on the phone with wifey the whole time asking questions!!

  14. That sounded like the 12 Days of Christmas! LOL

$66 is not that bad! I usually cannot escape for under $100. Good job!!

  15. My DH always says that you can never leave walmart without dropping $50, no matter how few items you NEEDED when you walked in.

    It’s such a trap.

  16. Staci A says:

At least you didn’t get the whole way home to realize you forgot to get the one thing you originally went for. That’s me-I’ll get sidetracked, buy a bunch of stuff, except whatever I actually needed.

  17. Never fails. Never.

  18. Trish says:

Oh I do the same thing. I now always grab a cart even if I’m going in for one thing, because I’m sure to remember something else that I needed!

  19. LMAO! That is me with Target…our Walmart is always empty! And I just laughed when you said it is getting below 70…omg we are at 20′s at night here!

  20. Alicia:admin says:

LOL it never fails does it?
