Waverly IdBids: Eco Friendly Toys for a greener world (CLOSED!)

Carrying on with our green month, we wanted to introduce you to Idbids Eco-Friendly Toys!

About Idbids

Scout, Lola and Waverly
The delightful Idbids teach children ages 3 and up that it can be heaps of fun when you’re keen on being green. They do it through a wonderful storybook journey of discovery. By taking iddy biddy steps along with his or her Idbid of choice, the child learns about the Earth and what he or she can do to make a difference. (For example, if you turn off the water while brushing your teeth all week, you’ll save more than a bath tub full of water.)

After reading the book (for the first of many times), there is a Field Guide and simple check list to help children continue to take their own iddy biddy steps every day. Once the Field Guide is complete, the child – with the help of a grown-up – can come to this site to
tell Scout. As a reward, Scout will create a personalized Idbids Certificate of Completion that you can print to celebrate the iddy biddy steps the child took to help keep our Earth happy, healthy
and green.
The Idbids’ motto is “iddy biddy steps make a biggie big difference in keeping our Earth happy, healthy and green.” Idbids strives to make its products using organic, recycled and eco-friendly materials.
We love the idea behind the toys and the positive, healthy message it brings our children. Facing tommorows future, we want our kids to understand early on that what they do reflects on everyones future, espiecally their own. And as parents, it can remind US that our children are more imporant to us then the convienence of a lot of technologies and how we also need to preserve where we can.
IdBids has generously donated one of the Idbid Eco-Friendly Starter Kits! Pick from your favorite message and pass on to your kids. Chart your progress and go back to share!

  1. Sara says:

We are very concerned about the environment and the economy in our family so we are washing dishes by hand, turning off lights, not running the air when we aren’t home, etc.

Lola the Flower Idbid is so cute!

  2. I think my son would like Scout the Cloud. He loves looking at clouds in the sky. My goal is to teach my son not to be wasteful in general. He just does not understand the concept of “running out” as it applies to anything including natural resources.

  4. I’m lovin’ cute ‘lil Waverly the Water Drop. We’ve been working really hard to teach our kids how important it is to be responsible and recycle. Our 2-year-old thinks he’s something else when he gets to carry HIS recycling bag down to the curbside. We’re also very big into turning off lights and unplugging electronics when we’re not using them. Would love to win Waverly as a “reward” for my little man. :)

  5. Kellie says:

I love Lola the Flower!! My daughter would love it!! In our house we believe that every little bit helps. We recycle, turn off lights & water, use fabric grocery bags, and buy organic when we can. Also unplugging electronics when they are not in use!

  6. Andrea says:

I love Waverly, that is so cute! And it fits in with our conservation effort, and one of my pet peeves, which is turning the water off when you are brushing your teeth. I just hate to see it running right down the drain without being used.

  7. Jenna says:

Lola would be awesome! We have canvas shopping bags, we “freecycle” things we don’t need, and turn lights off when leaving rooms etc. If we had our own place (live in an apt right now) we’d be planting flowers and so forth for sure!

  8. wow thay are all so cut i love to try and win one and well i think there just grate thay help children learn

  9. Trish says:

I like Lola the Flower. As for what we do- we donate things we don’t want anymore to local thrift stores or other people who can use them.

  10. Michelle says:

I want Lola the Flower Idbid. We recycle everything that we can. Also, instead of just throwing them out, we collect gently used Happy Meal toys and send them to a charity that gives them to children overseas. We also use no longer needed burp clothes as reusuable napkins.

  11. I would love to have LOLA!

Some things that we do and try to do are, always turn lights out when we leave a room, I have canvas totes that I take to the grocery store 95% of the time, and eventually we want to start riding our bikes places more in the summers.

  12. I think Waverly would be awesome for a friend of mine’s little boy.

I have a bunch of fabric totes I take shopping with me to avoid getting any more plastic bags. We also reuse the plastic ones we have

  13. Erin says:

I think Waverly would be super cute for my nephew. As for conservation, we reach for rags rather than paper towels. We use reusable bags instead of paper or plastic at the store. And I try to line dry as much as possible. I also keep tabs on our water usage, encouraging to use less. And electricity too. Those things also help save us money!

  14. Lola the Flower would be perfect for my little girl, we love anything pink. Right now we conserve by setting an egg timer for shower water usage, replaced our paper towels with rewashable rags, and I really try to remember my canvans shopping bags.

  15. Lola Flower is our fav hands down!

We’ve been doing a little each day. Here in Charlotte, we were on a water restriction due to drought, now that the restriction has been lifted.. We’ve continued to conserve water as we did before.

Recycle, Recycle, Recycle.. At Home, At School, At work. There is no reason NOT to, you know?!

  16. Angelina Lucas says:

I love Lola Flower Idbid. I always switch off lights in rooms that are not in use. I use my dishwasher only when I am able to load it fully.

    Angie

  17. Victoria says:

Lola the Flower Idbid! We always try to reuse our plastic bags. It would be better not to use them at all, I know, but this way we use them over and over until they really can’t be used anymore.

  18. Staci A says:

My little one was checking out the site with me and likes Waverly the Water Drop. They are really cute! We try to conserve energy by using natural light and keeping things turned off when they’re not in use (lights, tv, etc).

  19. Cara Goodman says:

I have been trying to educate my children about water conservation. They have the hardest time turning off the water while brushing their teeth and that drives me nuts! So for us, the waverly idbid kit would help me teach my children to be more green! Thanks for the great contests!

  20. I want the Waverly Waterdrop! We are conserving by turning off the faucet while brushing our teeth!!
