Waverly IdBids: Eco Friendly Toys for a greener world (CLOSED!)

Carrying on with our green month, we wanted to introduce you to Idbids Eco-Friendly Toys!

About Idbids

Scout, Lola and Waverly
The delightful Idbids teach children ages 3 and up that it can be heaps of fun when you’re keen on being green. They do it through a wonderful storybook journey of discovery. By taking iddy biddy steps along with his or her Idbid of choice, the child learns about the Earth and what he or she can do to make a difference. (For example, if you turn off the water while brushing your teeth all week, you’ll save more than a bath tub full of water.)

After reading the book (for the first of many times), there is a Field Guide and simple check list to help children continue to take their own iddy biddy steps every day. Once the Field Guide is complete, the child – with the help of a grown-up – can come to this site to
tell Scout. As a reward, Scout will create a personalized Idbids Certificate of Completion that you can print to celebrate the iddy biddy steps the child took to help keep our Earth happy, healthy
and green.
The Idbids’ motto is “iddy biddy steps make a biggie big difference in keeping our Earth happy, healthy and green.” Idbids strives to make its products using organic, recycled and eco-friendly materials.
We love the idea behind the toys and the positive, healthy message it brings our children. Facing tommorows future, we want our kids to understand early on that what they do reflects on everyones future, espiecally their own. And as parents, it can remind US that our children are more imporant to us then the convienence of a lot of technologies and how we also need to preserve where we can.
IdBids has generously donated one of the Idbid Eco-Friendly Starter Kits! Pick from your favorite message and pass on to your kids. Chart your progress and go back to share!
Each Eco-friendly Starter Kit contains:

I like the rain drop since we need rain so bad her in California. We have worked really hard to do as much as we can preserve our environment. We even started compost on our balcony in our small condo. My goal is to have children that grow up with these behaviors and thinking nothing of it. It won’t be “going green” to them it will just be the way they live.

  2. AmandaG says:

The water drop is cute. We’ve started recycling our newspapers and plastics with our garbage each week. Now that we live on post, almost everything we need is within walking distance so we’ve been walking a lot more. It helps that parking is like a college campus and it’s just easier to get places when we walk because our house is pretty centrally located to what we need.

  3. Sarah says:

Is it considered conservation if I forget to shower for 2 days because I’m blogging?

  4. Janet F says:

I like Waverly the Water Drop Idbid.

We are slowly changing to a green home. I have been buying eco friendly cleaning products.

We recycle whatever we can and are in the process of not using plastic.

  5. Sandy says:

like lola- heck they are all cute but I guess the wateerdrop becuase we only use water when needed, shut off, short showers, etc

  6. I think my kids would love Waverly the Water Drop.

Currently we have water saving showerheads, with filters to filter out the ‘gunk’ in our water. We reuse, recycle plastic containers we have (like butter), and use reusable packaging for their lunches (like the sandwich keepers and snack cups from Tupperware, along with reusable bottles for their drinks). We use cloth napkins instead of paper, we use CFL bulbs instead of regular. Gosh I could go on and on lol it’d be a novel :)

  7. AJ says:

I think my kiddos would enjoy Waverly the Water Drop.
My DD has us on a strict 4 minute shower routine. *lol*

  8. I like the Lola one.

We do our best to buy organically, leave our doors and windows open. And we drive a hybrid car!

  9. Gina says:

    I like Lola!

We grow our own veggies, and conserve water by taking timed showers!

  10. Bridgette says:

I like Lola! We recycle at home.

  11. I like Lola. Currently I’m working on reducing the waste in my daughter’s lunchbox. Less baggies & packaging.

  12. Kami says:

I like the Lola one the best!

We buy local, my husband rides his bike everywhere so we don’t use much gas! We recycle!

  13. Yasmine says:

Lola the Flower Idbid my daughter would love taht!
Well we did start a compost pile in the summer, and my inlaws started on as well.
we bought some green reusable bags from superstore
We turn off the water when brushing teeth as well at the lights
Its just a start but we are trying!

  14. I think they are all great, but love the water “waverly” best.

  15. Jen says:

I like the Waverly guy. :)

We conserve as much as we can – we shop local, we use minimal paper products (like paper towels), we have the windows open for light most of the time instead of using electricity, and we only own one car. We could do a lot more but the green in us comes out as much as possible.

  16. I think the monkeys would like Scout the cloud

  17. Hullabaloo says:

    I love the Lola!
We do a lot in our home. All our lightbulbs are the coil type, unplug all appliances when not in use, keeps lights off through out the house. only use cold water to wash clothes, hang clothes to dry when it is nice out, no plastic bags for us, try to do cloth diapers when I can, eco friendly cleaning products, and lots more!!

  18. Mom Spark says:

    I love Waverly!

My oldest son and I talk about this all the time. We have been recycling for a year now, which has surprisingly slowed down my trips to the dumpster! Cute stuff!

  19. Sarah says:

I want a Lola! You really want the list? We did the CFL bulbs. I reset the toilet to minimize water with each flush. I’m a reuseable shopping bag lady. We combine all our errands with picking Mo up from school so we only go out once a day if at all. I’m a light stalker. If it’s on and no one is there I turn it off. We try to open all the blinds and use as much natural light as possible.

  20. I love Lola because “pretty is as pretty does” so cute!

For us, it’s about re usuable products combined with safer air. Those are the things we focus on.
