  1. I love your dog! I recently adopted my dog, whose name is taco. She is an almost twin to captain. Is your dog a chihuahua/jack Russell mix too?

  2. I totally missed this post until now. I have been seeing the cute pics on facebook. I played the video, and our puppy, Angel, woke straight up looking around when she heard the dogs barking.

    Sending Captain positive vibes, Trisha.

  3. That dog is too cute!!!

  4. Captain is super cute!!! :)

  5. Oh, he is a heart breaker! After adopting my rescue dog he accidently turned my husband and I into dog rescue advocates. We both grew up having dogs, some of them rescues and that’s why when it was time to expand our family we went the rescue route. We found the best place to socialize our dog was by taking him to dog rescue events because it’s 1. cool to bring your dog there and encouraged 2. rescue people get it when you ask them to approach your dog in a certain way if you are in training (our guy had major abuse issues so we had to do different things to peel back the layers of issues to get the Mr. Happy Go Lucky we have now.)

  6. Awww, he’s cute! Charlotte seems so happy, glad P likes him too! How are the cats taking it?

  7. How sweet! Like others this melted my heart. Enjoy your new family member:)

  8. What a sweet puppy!

  9. ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  10. Michelle says:

He’s such a cutie. So glad to see his life was spared by such a caring family.

  11. Hr reaction was priceless!!

  12. Awesome! you just made Charlotte really, really happy.

  13. So sweet! It looks like he’s already part of the family! It’s so sad that no one had adopted such a sweet pup. It’s so sad that people travel so far and breed new dogs when so many need a home :( How old is he?

  14. Susannah says:

That precious dog was made for YOU! What a great rescue story, and bless your hearts. :)

  15. What a great video. He is adorable and I love the name Charlotte picked. I am so happy you adopted a shelter dog rather than buying a dog. You have a great heart Trisha!

  16. that just melt my heart! so glad that you came to shelter to get a pet for your family. that’s very responsible. that dog really is going to be an additional love in the family.

  17. I’m glad I’m not the only one with tears down my face. Such a wonderful video… You are so sweet to save this adorable doggy with only 5 days left to live.
I adore how happy both the kids looked, the photos of Charlotte at the end were perfect.
Thanks for your reminders at the end.

  18. extremely cute:)

  19. So cute!

  20. Awwwww! I got a little teary eyed that Captain has two happy kids to love on him!

  21. I have to say that I love you even more Trisha after seeing your kids play in the grass with their shoes off. It might seem like a weird response, but this is how I grew up. We played outside all day – in the dirt and it gave me SUPER germ fighting abilities. People it really will be ok if your kids get dirty….

Ok, on to the topic at hand…..LOVE the reaction from the kids and Captain seems like a perfect fit. Too sweet!!

  22. Charlotte’s reaction was priceless. I’m sitting here with tears running down my face, Captain looks so happy to have a forever home, family and yard to run in.

  23. Awwww!! She was so excited! Captain is so happy! I think it is awesome that you rescued that sweet baby! I have to say my first dog’s name was Buster :) Oh and our dogs have the same collar! lol

  24. Awwww! Love it! He’s a cutie, too!

  25. Very cute dog and great video of Charlotte’s reaction and P’s little giggle! :-)

  26. awww too sweet. I used to call my youngest son Evan Copper Top cause he was born with ginger hair. :)

  27. AWW!! I was literally stalking your page and hitting refresh repeatedly to see if you updated yet! I love her reaction!

I have to say, I was dying laughing when she ran over to Chris and the dog and you could see P off in distance just chillin’ by the fence!

  28. He is such a cute dog, and I loved Charlotte’s reaction! But what I loved most about this video was little P’s toes wiggling around when he was looking at the dog.

  29. He’s so precious! I love the P giggles, priceless!

  30. My daughter just tip-toed out of bed to watch with me.

    (1) I nearly cried. Oy.

    (2) LOVE how Phoenyx just gets left in the back … he was totally confused, lol.

    (3) LOL’ed at “Now we can have a real dog for our games instead of a play dag.”

    (4) Captain is adorable.

  31. I just became 7 all over again.. sitting her with tears in my eyes.. and loving that they already love him so much.. Knowing that the new will wear off.. they’ll still love him a long long time..the responsibility will make them love each other more..<3

  32. CONGRATS! He looks like the perfect addition! I love her reaction! Precious!

  33. He fits perfectly.

  34. Look at him just sitting there like a good boy!

  35. Luckiest pup in the world! He’s going to be so loved!

  36. So incredibly sweet! Did she say ‘can we name him buster?’ lol Love!

  37. So cute!
