We have a 2nd showing today

[private]

We had a showing yesterday (our 2nd person!) and her Realtor said that “it couldn’t have shown better”. I consider that a massive compliment based on the hours and hours of work we put into making this place seem brand new.

That buyer liked our house so much we are “tied with her favorite” and her and her husband are coming back today to see the house again. Smells like an offer to me!!

Our house really is quite nice. After all the cleaning, yard work, and wall painting, Chris turns to me yesterday and says “Remind me again why we are moving out of this house?”. I know what he means. Its 2400 square feet, 2 living rooms, an office, and 4 bedrooms. Plus, we got it at the downturn of the housing slump, so we took the builder for all he was worth on the price. It’s just not in the area we want to live in.

We want to go home.

In the mean time, my husband and I are looking at houses in the area we are moving to and 95% of available homes are only 3 bedrooms. Its like every builder in the area took up a pact to not make any 4 bedroom homes for the past 25 years. There are literally five that are not short sales.

Five.

The market is flooded with homes, but not in the area we are moving. I suppose that’s a good thing that the housing is so strong there, but not when you want to move!

Without seeing it, this is our first choice so far. See in the back there? That would be Charlotte’s school. I could walk her to school every day!!

If we were to build, guess where we would have to live till the house was done?

My in laws.

For 5 months.

I am thinking of taking an ad out in the newspaper: “We want to buy your 4 bed/2 bath home if its over 1900 square feet, has a backyard, and isn’t in a flood zone.”

I wonder if that would work…

Good Luck with selling and buying a new house :) I love the one on the picture!

  2. Sandy says:

Good luck with everything Trisha! How great it would be to be that close to Charlotte’s school! I wish we were that close!

  3. Well, good luck! I hoe you find what you want BEFORE your house sells. That would be bad.

I hope they bite! That would be nice for you to have it all done and over with! No more cleaning, painting and whatnot. That house is very pretty and with the school being behind that house that’s even better! I have to say though I would not want to live in a house with a school behind it only because if you (cough)have another baby some day the school yard will be noisy and wake the baby. But that’s just me b/c I make things wicked quiet in our house for nap time. I guess though that if the baby was used to it it wouldn’t really matter anyway. Just a thought. Anyway, good luck! I hope things start rollin soon for ya!

  5. It sounds like you guys might have a “bite” soon! That house is beautiful for sure. I can imagine after seeing the house you are in now that you would definitely have some attention in it. Good Luck!

We sold our house that sounds very much like the home you are selling. When we got it ready to photograph and show, we said the same thing… why are we leaving? But we knew it wasn’t our final destination and we wanted to make sure we had our options open. Thankfully, we did that before the market tanked in San Diego, so we were able to get the house sold. And now, because we don’t have the house, we can say yes to a big move across the country. YAY!

Good luck in getting the house sold and getting on to the next part of your life… with no flood zones, preferably.

  7. Good luck! I do hope you get an offer.

The housing market is so depressing to me. We thought we would be moving the first year after the twins were born, but it took such a nose dive that we our house is worth about half of what we still owe on it. We have too many people living in this tiny house, but we’re stuck. :(

Let us know how the showing goes!

  8. Amanda says:

You never know what might fall in your lap if you take out the ad. You might catch the eye of someone who was wanting to sell, but on the fence.

  9. Good luck with selling! It’s great you’re even getting lookers at this point. You must be doing something right! I love the house you have your eye on, btw.
