This has been brought back from the archives from last year around the same time to enjoy this week.
My daughter has long amazing hair. She has had pigtails since she was 6 weeks old, no kidding. Tiny ones, but they were there. I mean look at this little cute face.
I grew my hair till I was in the 10th grade. My dad wouldn’t let me cut it. Then I went out and cut it SO short and have kept it that way half my life. Once you cut, its so hard to grow back out. So I always knew that I wanted my daughter to keep the tradition alive and have long gorgeous hair. Plus, its something external I can grab if she takes off running in a parking lot. *kidding..sorta*
Charlotte went and had a hair trim last week. She went to the salon and had a professional hair wash (smelled like chocolate) and lately she has been playing ‘hair salon’ with my hair. She stands behind me and ‘washes’ my hair, sprays it down, and brushes it. Its bonding, right?
Today she was doing that and she kept running off for hair products. I was typing away here not paying attention. She crawls up behind me and I slightly turn and I see……….safety scissors. I say, “OH NO baby, you cant cut mommies hair! Thats only for the special person at the salon.”
And she says
“Oh, No, mommy, I can do it.” all matter of factly.
SNIP.
Atleast it wasn’t mine.

My daughter gave herself a half mullet last year. On one side. It was beautimous.
She even gathered up all the evidence and hid it in the same place.
Kids.
Oh yeah, all little girls do that. LOL! Poor Charlotte!
Felicia cut Madelyn’s hair once! Thank God her hair is so curly, because it blended in well!
Trisha, the pouty lip is the best part! She is just so darn cute and yes, it had to happen:) My sister begged for a “summer haircut” as a kid because one of her friends had one. In the middle of the night, scissors in hand, she cut off ALL of her hair.
She wrote a note and put it on my mom’s chest while she was sleeping “sorry mom, I gave myself a summer cut.”
Classic.
How did I miss this?! She is the cutest thing ever
that had to happened LOL at least it’s not more like mine did! But fortunately it wasn’t all the way up it was up to her shoulders so we had to take her to cut her hair it was really visible LOL
right!!!
But again LOL at least it wasn’t yours
LOL! I had very long hair when I was young too. Then one day my parents came home and were told by my nanny that I cut it all off. Haha. I had my hair in a pony tail, found scissors, and cut at the piny tail. I had to get a hair cut that was up to my ears. I never cut it again myself until I was a grown adult. To this day I usually keep my hair very long. It was at my butt up until the trim I got last week. Now it is mid-to-lower back.
Haha. woops!
One of my sons did this, too. At least I could just buzz his off!
I think every little girl does this. At least she used safety scissors. I used pinking shears and cut my butt length hair right off at the shoulder.
That is the funniest face.
She is a doll! That picture is classic!!!
I love momdot! I have given you all a major award over at my blog.
Thanks and keep up the great work!
Oh noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lol
What a face! I love it!
I am sorry, and it must be late cause when I scrolled down and saw that angry pouty face I laughed till I cried.
I did the same thing when I was young and have had bangs ever since lol.
A friend of mine came home from work to find her daughter with a full blown mullet, no bangs, and a bald spot over one ear where Daddy had tried to “fix” it by shaving it into a mohawk. I laughed until she reminded me that it’s just a matter of time before it happens at my house. But which Zoo critter is it going to be?
Oh my! LOL! It will grow back! Her face is priceless!
Wow, Charlotte has beautiful hair!!! Don’t worry it grows back!!! Haha I love little kids!!
I totally knew where you were going with this. It could have been much worse. But look at the cute picture you now have as a souvenir. If it bothers her, slap a headband on her. And hide the scissors.
that is a fear of mine! ack. going to hide the sissors!
So cute!
That is why I let my kids cut the Barbie’s hair. It distracts them from their own.
