The best job I ever had was working in a record store when I was in high school. We'd play the music so loud, we'd knock all the vitamins off the wall at GNC next door. I always got to listen to all the new releases first and got a good discount on everything. This was right when CDs were coming out and I remember we all stood around the first shipment and asked ourselves WHO THE HELL IS GOING TO BUY THESE THINGS?

I worked for 10+ years as a paralegal before I became a SAHM. I always thought I wanted to be a lawyer ... until I actually worked for them.

Good to see there are others out there that tried on many hats.

Im still trying on some.

So far I've been:
Camp Counselor, Retail sales girl @ Express, Retail Asst Manager @ Claires, part time secretary for a lawfirm (MOST BORING job to date), Biller at a car dealership, ..and then post college National Sales for Clear Channel Radio, Public Relations Project Manager..... and then I became a stay at home mom... and am currently sporting a blogger hat as well as a party biz hat - of sorts. Though I'm not sure its exactly where i want it to be. I did some hair bow making, favor making, tutumaking... as well. Yea, Im still finding my thing. lol

My first job wasn't until college (my Dad was one for keeping up with studies instead of having a job - this was back in the mid to late 1970s - go figure). I was a "proctor" at dormitories - I had to check kid's IDs to make sure they lived in the dorm they said they did, monitor sign in/out books, and announce visitors to kids. It was minimum wage, but I had arranged my college schedule o be off on Fridays, so I did occasional Fridays from 8 to 5. It was my walking around money.
I got my degree from Northeastern U. in Boston in 1983 and 6 months later started my career in IT. I worked at various companies through May 2008 and then was laid off. Have had one temp job in the later summer of 2009. Very tough market out there now.
For now, I'm doing the domestic stuff, running errands, doing job searches, and trying to keep my sanity.

I might need to blog an answer to this too! My worst job: Chick-fil-a cashier. People were jerks!

Easiest job: Frosty the Snowman character at a mall during Christmas

Job that made me feel hip: working in a coffee shop

Oh wow lets see I worked at Red Lobster, Burger King, planet video, wendys, taco bell, Hardees, Blockbuster(my fav!), Harley Davidson, loaded trucks for RPS, as a gas station clerk, as a receptionist for a hospital, as a telemarketer(hated it), for a doctor's office 3 seperate times, as a personal assistance, ran my own daycare and about to open my own diaper cake business!

I am not sure that is all the places. I started when I was 15 and sometimes worked 2 jobs at a time.

Working at Busch Gardens would be really fun! I also made hairbows and tutus.. I loved making hair bows but really hated making tutus. I've been taking a break for a year to finish my classes and I'm not sure I'll make hair bows again, especially with the new laws starting in Feb.

I was a waitress for Pizza Hut.. I LOVED it! I made a crud-load in tips.. there were days I'd bring home $100 or more in tips and that was on top of the hourly pay and for just 3-6 hours of work, that's not bad pay!

Then I quit that job to work for a cute little mom and pop diner as a cook. It was nice because I worked less hours and was able to stay home with my daughter more often. But the pay was cruddy.. I should have stayed at Pizza Hut.

Then I we moved to a different town so my husband could finish college and I started working at a daycare that let me bring my daughter. I saw one of the old ladies there get very mean and pushy with one of the little boys there (on two occasions) so I told the boss, she believed the old lady over me and I got fired.. nice huh? I will NEVER put my kids in daycare after the stuff I saw there.

I worked as a telephone interviewer for a month or two and hated it so I quit. My husband got a really good job and I've been a SAHM ever since.

I now work 1 day out of the home for an organic produce company and work a few hours 2 days a week out of my own home for them updating their site and products and taking care of their billing.. basically doing everything that she hates to do or needs help with. It's not a bad job and she lets me bring my two year old. I'm secretly hoping to quit in a few months when we get back on our feet but we'll see.

fun learning about your jobs Trisha! Here are some of mine:

High School:

Santa's elf every Xmas (no laughing allowed)
Worked for my Dad's biz
Babysitting of course

while in college:

Day care provider at a local school (hated this job, not the kids the parents)
Front Desk girl at Salon (they made me wax eyebrows, rinse perms, and everything else)
Worked for my Dad's biz, anwered his phones, bookkeeping

After college:
11 years at the same company Staffing Firm
I placed temps in secretary and accounting jobs
climbed the ladder here became a manager for most of my career and thought I was a career mama forever but then I had Will and decided to stay home. I had a love hate relationship w/ my job but wouldn't change a thing.

I always made jewelry as a hobby and one thing led to another and Kristen's Custom Creations was born!

<abbr><em>Kristen’s last blog post..<a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=11688035" rel="nofollow">Hand Stamped Sterling Silver Peace Dove necklace-Made to Order</a></abbr></em>
