29 days ago I entered this modeling contest for charlotte because it had a 100K educational trust fund attached to it. The premise was the top 50 kids would gain a chance to compete in LA to win. The Top 50 to be decided by voting and then they would be judged by a real judge in person.
It was meant to fun. I figured, ill network and see where it leads me. Im a blogger, its like a rule or something.
4000 kids entered.
The 2nd day of the competition I was concerned with how they were running it. Red warning flags were falling all over the place because lets face it, I run a blog, and we have contests, and voting contests especially can have major issues. I have watched so many of you have issues in the past.
There was no captcha, no email verification, nothing. They responded and told me they wanted to make it a quick vote to generate as many followers as possible.
OK. I get it.
Im in marketing.
So I plugged and pleaded and begged. I tweeted to 7500 friends, asked for communities to send newsletters and put up blog posts, i put a pop up on my own site (sorry about that), i put up craigs lists and facebooked and used fan pages. I did everything I knew to do.
I probably spammed 150,000 people this entire time.
Not joking.
I am a chump.
And oh man, my community has been so nice to me. Even if they hate me. They let me beg.
Additionally, I have made a lot of friends in this contest. I joined some voting groups to support some kids and have them support charlotte. They are funny and witty and its been entertaining.
Then today I wake up and there is captcha. The day before the contest ends. Not just any old captcha, captcha where they want you to count the childs name you are voting for. Like letters 10 and 2. Its confusing people. I mean, if I pimp out on twitter, those people dont want to wait around to count out charlottes name. LOL
So yes, I’m in hell, and hell is voting and spending too much time on a pipe dream. But now I’m here and all I can do is ask one last time.
Please vote for charlotte, she may end up on page 700, but I tried. I tried for her.
I tried honestly, I tried and I never gave up, and I have supported 100s of other children along the way.

I was able to get in a vote late last night!! Wooo whooo! Thanks for the letter count. Night Owls have trouble counting when they are tired LOL GOOD LUCK!!! ANY MOM would beg, borrow, promise, steal, humiliate themselves and go to the end of the earth for their child! Congrats your A TRUE MOM, but I’m sure you had no doubt on that one!
I voted a bunch of times as well – then I tried to vote and it kept telling me I had voted that day already… but I saw this post a day late and tried to vote – and it looks like her pic says top 50 still… so maybe that’s a good sign?

I’m signed into Facebook and still get the captcha. And, as much as I make fun of myself. I’m not dumb, but the captcha instructions make NO sense. I seriously had no idea it was asking for letters from Charlotte’s name.

Happy because i am totally going insane with all this begging for votes n sad because i am going to miss all the chatting we have all been doing.

I actually like the captcha. I think that it will keep it totally fair. I did not mind counting out Charlottes letters of her name
I now know she has 9 letters in her name, the second letter is h and the fifth letter is l! Learn something new everyday!!!! 
That stinks that they put a captcha on it the very last day. No worries – I voted & it wasn’t that mind boggling since you broke down the number to letter ratio for Charlotte’s name for me!

Life’s about broadening our horizens and experiencing it’s fullness. Nope that doesn’t work either, we all lost weeks of our lives and barely showered, fought with our spouses, made orphans of our children, and ordered lots of take-out.
