We like to keep our kids active by giving them a timer. Then we clock how fast they run. It’s weird how into it they get.

As for ideas, I’m not sure if this counts but my home is filled with books. Both my sons have overloaded bookshelves and there are books in my car and my bedroom and all over. Anytime someone wants a book read and I am ready to drop everything and accomodate.

Our dog loves to be chased, especially when the route includes running around the sofa in our living room. My son is an eager participant, so both of them get a little extra exercise this way.

We have two dogs, and we tell my little guy how important that it is that they get their exercise (they’re terrors without a ‘walkie’). So it works out perfectly, when the dogs go out for a walk, our little guy comes with us, so each day he’s assured of having exercise!

My little guy would get a kick out of the Dino Magic Volcano Playset
from the Fizz’n Find line. I think any little one would love the surprise of finding out what the egg has to offer, and the magic of the ‘fizzing’!

On the weekends my husband takes our son on long bike rides. They ride for miles on the trails near our house and end up at the ice cream store for a treat. He also helps my husband wash the car and do yard work. Around the house he helps me with chores like folding the laundry, picking up toys, etc. I trick him into thinking that these are fun activities by doing them to music. He likes to be helpful. He’s 5, we’ll see how long this lasts.

My son just learned to swim this summer so the Pool Action Pack would be perfect for him. He’d get a lot of use out of it since we live in Florida. I think he’d like the Animal Scramble too, he loves a challenge.

To keep my daughter busy and up off the couch we try to get her involved in all household chores, we have her go get things for us etc. Like when I am doing the dishes I ask her, “How fast do you think you could get Mommy a towel?” Let’s see how quickly we can pick up the toys?!?!

Some ways that I keep them active is to tell them that I need help because I just can’t do things myself like folding clothes, setting the table, picking up toys. They think I really need help and I get to talk with them and have fun while I get things done around the house. We like to go on walks, to the park, and outside a lot. This gets them active and out of the house so that when they do come home they are excited to play with their toys instead of being bored with what they have and so they watch t.v.

All the toys are so neat! My girl would have to have the Water Babies, any one would do. She is 2 and loves babies!!!! My son would love the magnet dive gloves. Man, I think they look so cool, I want some too!

For my second entry, keeping my kids active ~ For one both my daughters take several dance classes. I make them practice at home as well, not a lot but enough to get some exercise & keep up.

They both ride their bikes a lot, so I don’t usually have to do much to force them. My oldest is always outside & I have to actually make her come in & relax. My youngest will get funny sometimes & want to sit in front of the tv just a bit too much. Then I usually offer to go on a walk for her & she always goes.

best way I know to get my kids nice and tired and not watching tv is to get outside and play. We buy all kinds of toys for them to take outside. If it’s cold, it’s okay, grab your jacket and go outsdie! If it’s hot that’s okay, jump in the pool!!
