Will a Family in Motion actually GET in motion?

The older I get, the less I want to exercise and the more I should. The truth is that with a baby in the house and a 7 year old going on 21 (and all her very obnoxious friends), the only thing I want to do at the end of the night is go to bed and know I have a clean kitchen. I don’t ask for much. I swear.

But lately my spouse is complaining about how out of shape he is. And by he, he really means he and I. And it’s true. Not that either one of us are overweight and by all medical purposes we both fall into a healthy BMI, but let’s just say the required “married 15″ has slipped on and isn’t going anywhere without some work. Real work.

Yesterday morning my husband, determined to do something about it, actually crawled out of bed at 530am and went running. It wasn’t long after that that I heard him trying to puke in the living room. This morning he turned the alarm off.

It takes some serious dedication to get moving and neither one of us have it after the little ones keeping us up during the night.

Recently, however, I discovered that our TV has an app called Fitness VOD that allows you to put in your health goals, bring on a trainer, and watch videos that are specific to your needs.

You want yoga? Abs? Bikini Ready? Core? They have all of it.

You get to pick your trainer (I picked this stud) and set up your profile:

Unfortunately we kept getting this screen when we tried to actually watch something:

which meant we not only gave up, but decided cake was a better option.

I make no excuses.

We are weak.

In any case, I looked around and we appear to be about the only people on the planet with this issue considering our network is connected and we can surf the net, so it may be something we did in the initial installation of the TV. We are going to reset the TV to factory settings and do the set up again.

Then we are going to get right on that bikini ready body and ab core work.

I swear.

Right….after….this….one….last….bite….

  1. That cake looks pretty good… Oh wait, this is about exercise! I think it is really really neat that all of those resources are available through your TV! It definitely makes it easier to fit exercise in when you don’t have to go searching for new ways to liven up your routine!

  2. That’s super cool!!! Too bad it doesn’t work quite right.

Chocolate cake is always better. I walk my 3-4 miles in the morning, and then in the evening after the kids are in better, I have dessert! :D

  3. I want your TV. As somebody who is trying to lose weight and hit a plateau, I need to change things up.
