Your kitchen can be a Spa

Walmart is having a contest where you submit tips on how you can save money from home. I thought I would enter. What else was I doing while Charlotte was napping, right?

Check out my overly dorky, but totally useful, video I did for them. <—no, for real, click!

Cat Litter Face Mask

  • 1 bag cat litter (must be marked ’100 Percent Natural Clay’)
  • Water
  • Drops of some type of oil

preparing

Mix in a couple tablespoons of the cat litter with water and drops of oil
Apply mask to face , Wash off after 15 minutes.

Moisturizing Mask

  • ½ avocado
  • ¼ cup honey

Preparation:

A classic recipe for dry skin. Mash the avocado in a bowl, then stir in honey. Apply to skin for about 10 minutes, then rinse.

Exfoliation

  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp warm water

Preparation:

Stir sugar into warm water so that it melts.
Make sure granules are dissolved, otherwise they could tear your skin.
Apply to the face.
Gently massage around the skin.
Rinse with warm water OR I like to take a warm washcloth that’s steamed in the microwave. Make sure the washcloth is not too hot.

Face Mask

  • 1 tbsp natural yogurt, room temperature (not lowfat or non-fat)
  • 1 tsp runny honey (microwave for a few minutes to soften hardened honey)

Preparation:

Combine mixture, then apply to face  for about 15 minutes.
Wash face with steaming washcloth.
For dry skin, use an extra tsp of honey  and for oily, add a few drops of fresh lime juice.

Other tips

Lemon will highlight (or lighten) your hair and coffee will give it warmth. Red wine can be used for red highlights. You will need to not wash your hair for up to 24 hours after doing these routines for best results.

Oatmeal and Bananas will tighten your skin in a face mask

Green grapes will assist in anti-aging

Milk will soften your skin

Mayo and Beer add shine

And no, I havent tried the kitty litter face mask, we dont have any litter to spare!

My 5 month old watched your video with me and she grinned and cooed the whole time. Of course she also filled her diaper so I’m not sure what that means. But apparently she’s a fan of your work. :)

I love all the at home ideas. Oatmeal is also a great face mask for irritated skin, or acne skin. Just add some warm water and make a paste, and stick it on. Or if you use dry oatmeal, you can rub it on and it makes a great exfoliant.
