“Your Yosicle Adventure” Contest

I do not know about where you live, but the heat has most definitely set into the south. We spent the weekend in New Orleans and the temperature was somewhere between a hot stove and a car engine. Yes. It was that hot.

Aside from keeping yourself hydrated with lots of water while doing all your outdoor playing, there are plenty of fun ways as well to beat the summer heat. Around my house we totally enjoy not only eating Yosicles (tons of types of these!) but also finding creative ways to enjoy them through the summer months.

Just the other day Charlotte and I made a fun punch that consisted of a tasty pineapple and banana juice and used our Yosicles to dip and eat! You can also cut them into little mini ice cubes or throw inside a punch bowl.

There were no complaints from this face:

And this summer the adventure doesn’t have to end in your own house! Make sure you enter the “Your Yosicle Adventure” Contest. I was recently able to interview Tom Kenny, better known as the voice of Spongebob Squarepants where he was telling me more about the contest…and not in that annoying Spongebob voice we know so well as parents:

YOUR YOSICLE! ADVENTURE

The online competition invites fans to create their own ending to an animated Popsicle Pete adventure – one where he collides with yogurt to create a Yosicle. The winner will receive a trip to Los Angeles to see Tom bring their winning submission to life in a Hollywood recording studio.

What do you love most about working with the Popsicle brand?

  • I like how much fun they have with their products. For example, Popsicle Pete — star of the Your Yosicle Adventure – encourages kids to be creative and participatory instead of passive observers. The contest and activities really include and involve the entire family. Some of the best and wackiest ideas come from kids, and Popsicle is an advocate of that creativity.

Can you tell me about your partnership with Popsicle and the “Your Yosicle Adventure” contest?

The Your Yosicle Adventure is a fun way to get the family together and brainstorm a creative ending for Popsicle Pete. Contestants submitted their own unique endings showing how he turns into a Yosicle! But the adventure continues! You can choose your adventure, fill in the missing words, and reveal a funny and unexpected story for Popsicle® Pete! Stay tuned for the announcement of the winner and to see how Popsicle Pete escapes the “Bulls on Tirade”.

(more about Tom Kenny)

Tom Kenny grew up in East Syracuse, New York. When Tom was young he was into comic books, drawing funny pictures and collecting records. Tom turned to stand-up comedy in Boston and San Francisco. This led to appearances on every cable show spawned by the stand-up epidemic of the 80′s and 90′s as well as stints on “The Dennis Miller Show” (1992), “The Pat Sajak Show” (1989), “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” (1993) and “Late Night with David Letterman” (1982). Tom was a regular on Fox TV’s “The Edge” (1992) and spent a year as the host of NBC’s “Friday Night” (1983). His mainstream television appearances include “Brotherly Love” (1995) and David Alan Grier‘s sitcom debacle, “The Preston Episodes” (1995). Tom supplies the voice for “Heffer” the cow on Nickelodeon’s “Rocko’s Modern Life” (1993) and Nickelodeon’s “SpongeBob SquarePants” (1999), as well as regular performances on The Cartoon Network’s “Dexter’s Laboratory” (1996), “Justice League” (2001), “The Powerpuff Girls”(1998), and “Johnny Bravo” (1997). Tom joined the cast of “Mr. Show with Bob and David” (1995) where he met his future wifeJill Talley. Together they’ve teamed up on Comedy Central’s “The Mark Thomas Comedy Product” (1996), the stage show “The Show With Two Heads”, HBO’s “Not Necessarily the Election” (1996), the Smashing Pumpkins‘ “Tonight, Tonight” video andTravis ”Sing” video.

Now enough about all this, GO ENTER. I went over to do my choose your own adventure and it was super cute. Your kids will REALLY enjoy deciding how to complete the video by making the choices themselves.

And someone has to win, so I would love to see it be one of my readers! Why are you still here…ENTER ENTER. We both know you have facebook open right now anyway.

  1. Those actually look good!

  2. What a good idea! Send one my way!

  3. The Yosicles look really good! I have a couple of pretty picky eaters but I bet they would eat these up.
