10 Films Not to Watch With Parents! Remember when you were growing up and you would sit down for family night, just to be hit with a scene that made you AND them cringe? Nothing like watching a love scene next to dear old mom! Here are top 10 films that we did NOT want to watch with our parents growing up.
Most of us love movies right?
I mean I watch more movies than TV shows, which would explain having 4 different movie channels on our cable package. But we all know there are also times were we’d rather be doing something extremely uncomfortable than watch a movie, like when our parents are in the room. It never failed when I was living at home that I’d pick some movie that had a scene that would make the whole thing uncomfortable, and if you’re luck is like mine it almost always happens when I’m watching movies with my dad, so here you go my:
Top 10 embarrassing movie scenes to watch with your Parents
#10 – Dance Flick
Street dancer Thomas Uncles (Damon Wayans Jr) is from the wrong side of the tracks, but his bond with the beautiful Megan White (Shoshana Bush) might help the duo realize their dreams as the enter in the mother of all dance battles. – It’s a Wayans brothers’ film so expect raunchy comedy and language. If you’ve seen any of the Scary Movie films you’ll know what to expect with these. My grandma rented this for some unknown reason as I wasn’t with her, it lasted 5 seconds in the DVD player before she drove up the street to return it.
#9 Forgetting Sarah Marshall
In this movie a devastated Peter (Jason Segal) takes a Hawaii vacation in order to deal with recent break-up with his TV star girlfriend, Sarah. Little does he know Sarah’s () traveling to the same resort as her ex … and she’s bringing along her new boyfriend. – In this movie the main character should be Jason Segal’s man part because well he spends a lot of this movie in the nude and while I like Jason Segal I can’t say that’s something I’d like to see in what seemed like 90% of the movie.
#8 – Due Date
High-strung father-to-be Peter Highman (Robert Downey Jr.) is forced to hitch a ride with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis) on a road trip in order to make it to his child’s birth on time. — The part I found most awkward, and I saw this with my husband, was the scene where he’s taking care of himself in the car. It was pretty graphic as you don’t SEE anything but there are … uh sounds. Also there is a shot of the dog doing the same …. very awkward and uncomfortable. I still skip that part of the movie when we watch it.
Does this need a description? That steamy sex scene was an important part of the movie I’m sure but I still get a bit uncomfortable when I watch it after having had to sit through it with my mother AND grandmother. Lets not forget him drawing a nude Rose … that was uncomfortable too! Thankfully now I control the remote and can fast forward lol.
#6 – Hall Pass
Rick (Owen Wilson) and Fred (Jason Sudeikis), two husbands who are having difficulty in their marriages, are given a Hall Pass by their wives: for one week, they can do whatever they want. — Well first there is a scene where Jason Sudeikis’ character goes outside to take care of himself in the car. Anything like that is already uncomfortable to me lol. But then it gets “better” when in one scene Owen Wilson’s character is being revived after spending too much time in a hot tub. When he awakes he’s surrounded by men that are standing over him in the nude and of course they found a man who was greatly blessed in his manhood.
#5 – 40 Year Old Virgin
A 40 year old man’s journey to having sex for the first time – Need I say more?
#4 The Ugly Truth
After another bad date, Abby (Katherine Heigl) finds herself arguing with, and later forced to work with, Mike Chadway (Gerard Butler) about what really makes men and women tick and who knows this better. – When a movie is based on relationships and it has Gerard Butler being all about the sex, it’s obvious this is NOT a movie to watch with any members of your family lol.
#3 One Hour Photo
An employee of a one-hour photo lab (Robin Williams) becomes obsessed with a young suburban family. –This movie STILL to this day scares the daylights out of me. I watched it with my Aunt and Uncle and it was just very uncomfortable. Mainly the part where Robin Williams take these 2 people to a hotel and makes them pose provocatively and let’s not forget the developing film scenes … there was like 3 or 4 different people with nude photos … I think I feared the photo booth at Walmart for a while after that movie.
#2 – Knocked Up
In this movie, fun loving party animal Ben Stone (Seth Rogan), never expected for his one night stand Allison (Katherine Heigl) to show up on his doorstep eight weeks later to tell him she’s pregnant.– To me just about any Seth Rogan movie is probably best to be avoided when it comes to the parents but this one stands out the most because well I know how awkward and uncomfortable labor is, but watching them show some strange lady’s lady parts and such I could do without even if my parents aren’t in the room.
Now for the Number 1 spot ……
#1 –There’s Something About Mary
This is another one we should all know … or at least heard of. While this movie is probably cringe worthy as a whole I’m talking about the scene where Mary (Cameron Diaz) uses the um … man-gel in her hair. That was def a moment I still get a bit squirmy if it’s even mentioned around my parents lol.
So do you have a movie that you were freaked out to watch in front of your parents?
