To get started on your spicy turkey burgers, first, gather your tools. You will need:

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Spatula or spoon
  • Small baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Vegetable oil
  • Grill

1.) Prepare the Patties

In a large mixing bowl, combine all 11 of the dry ingredients (don’t add the turkey yet). Once the dry ingredients are thoroughly combined, add the ground turkey into the bowl and use your spatula or spoon to coat the meat. When the meat is coated, divide it into 6 compact, equally-sized patties.

2.) Chill the Turkey Patties

Line your small baking sheet with parchment paper then place the turkey patties on the sheet. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour to help patties hold their shape before grilling.

3.) Prepare the Grill & Cook Patties

Clean the grill and grease with vegetable oil by wetting a paper towel in the oil and rubbing it on the grates. Preheat the grill to high. Once the grill is heated, take the cold turkey patties and place them on the grill. Close the lid, cook for 5 minutes, and then flip and cook for another 3 to 5 minutes.

In the last 30 seconds of cooking, add pepper jack cheese slices to the patties to melt.
