What You Need
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cups sugar
  • tsp baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • cups whole milk
  • 1 cup salted butter melted
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • Gel food coloring rainbow colors
  • Disposable piping bags
Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl combine flour and baking powder, stir well.
  2. In a separate bowl whisk eggs, milk and sugar together until frothy.
  3. Stir butter and vanilla into the egg mixture
  4. Add liquid mixture to flour mixture and stir until just combined, do not over mix.
  5. Evenly separate batter into 6 different bowls or cups and add gel food coloring to each bowl (one bowl for red, one for orange, one for yellow, etc)
  6. Pour each cup of batter into a separate piping bag. You will have 6 different bags when you are done.
  7. Heat your waffle iron to high and spray with a non stick cooking spray
  8. Starting in the center, squeeze purple batter onto waffle iron.
  9. Next add blue, green, yellow, etc.
  10. Close the lid and bake for 2-3 minutes or until your waffle maker indicates that waffle is done.
  11. Repeat until all your batter is gone (makes 4-5 waffles depending on size of your waffle maker)
  12. Serve immediately
  13. Tip: Do not use liquid food coloring, Liquid food coloring changes the consistency of the batter and leads to floppy waffles.
