What You Need
  • 1 Large egg
  • 2 pounds 94% lean ground turkey
  • 1/3 cup Finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup Shredded pepper jack cheese
  • 2 Minced garlic cloves
  • 1 Diced jalapeno
  • 2 tbsp Fresh or dried chopped cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon Sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 6 Slices pepper jack cheese
  • 1 Sliced red onion
  • Ice burg lettuce
  • Sliced tomato
  • 6 Whole wheat hamburger buns
  • Spicy ranch, mayo, or ketchup
  1. Prepare the Patties. In a large mixing bowl, combine all 11 of the dry ingredients (don’t add the turkey yet). Once the dry ingredients are thoroughly combined, add the ground turkey into the bowl and use your spatula or spoon to coat the meat. When the meat is coated, divide it into 6 compact, equally-sized patties.

  2. Chill the Turkey Patties. Line your small baking sheet with parchment paper then place the turkey patties on the sheet. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour to help patties hold their shape before grilling.

  3. Prepare the Grill & Cook Patties. Clean the grill and grease with vegetable oil by wetting a paper towel in the oil and rubbing it on the grates. Preheat the grill to high. Once the grill is heated, take the cold turkey patties and place them on the grill. Close the lid, cook for 5 minutes, and then flip and cook for another 3 to 5 minutes.

In the last 30 seconds of cooking, add pepper jack cheese slices to the patties to melt.
