Fairy Cinnamon Roll Recipe
What You Need
  • 1 cup Funfetti cake mix
  • 1 ½ tbsp. 2 pkgs active dry yeast
  • 2 cups very warm water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 cups bread flour
  • Filling
  • 1 stick butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • ½ cup funfetti cake mix
  • cinnamon
  • rainbow sprinkles
  • Frosting
  • ¼ cup butter softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup funfetti cake mix
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3-6 Tbsp. milk
  • Rainbow sprinkles
  1. In a small bowl, combine water and yeast and let it activate (foam up)
  2. Once yeast is active pour into the bowl of a stand mixer. Add 1 cup funfetti cake mix, salt and vanilla. Use dough hook attachment to mix ingredients together.
  3. Add bread flour 1 cup at a time until well combined.
  4. Grease the inside of a large bowl and place dough inside.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap.
  6. Let sit for an hour until doubled in size.
  7. Punch dough down, cover again and let rise for an additional hour until double in size.
  8. After the second rise, remove and place dough on a clean floured surface.
  9. Roll out into a large rectangle shape.
  10. Combine brown sugar, ½ cup cake mix and cinnamon in a small bowl
  11. Spread softened butter over top.
  12. Evenly distribute brown sugar mixture over the butter
  13. Sprinkle with rainbow sprinkles
  14. On one of the long sides, roll up to make a long and skinny log.
  15. Slice into even rolls. It should yield 12- 16 rolls depending on how thick you slice them.
  16. Place in a greased 9x13 baking pan
  17. Cover with plastic wrap and let cinnamon rolls rise a final time in the pan, about 30 minutes, or until they have doubled in size.
  18. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes.
  19. While cinnamon rolls are baking, make the frosting.
  20. In a large bowl, beat butter, powdered sugar, ½ cup cake mix, vanilla and milk.
  21. Spread frosting over warm rolls. Sprinkle with additional sprinkles if desired.
