Snickerdoodles Cookie Recipe
Snickerdoodles Cookie Recipe, a delicious perfect cookie for the holidays
What You Need
  • 1 Tablespoon cream of tartar
  • 5 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 + teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 cups butter
  • 2 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Hershey's Kisses optional
  • Cinnamon sugar coating 3 Tablespoons sugar, 2 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Place flour, cream of tartar, salt and cinnamon in a medium-sized bowl and whisk together. Set aside.
  2. Cream the butter, white sugar and brown sugar together for 2 minutes until fluffy and light.
  3. Add in the eggs and vanilla until fully incorporated, and add in the dry mixture, half at a time.
  4. Refrigerate the dough for at least one hour before rolling into balls.
  5. Preheat oven to 350F
  6. Roll into 1 Tablespoon-sized balls and roll through the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  7. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes. Cookies should appear puffy and slightly pale.
  8. If you want to insert chocolate kisses, press them in with 2 minutes left of the cooking time to prevent burning.
  9. Cool on cooling racks.
