Use Tinfoil to Create a Heart for Cupcakes and Muffins

by trisha haas

This weekend we made these scrumptious strawberry cupcakes. The recipe I was using had them in the shape of hearts and I didn’t have a heart cupcake tin. Poop. I generally have to do things the “old fashioned” way. That usually translates to me being too cheap to buy the right pan. Anyhoo.

Here is a little tip to make hearts out of your cupcakes without a special pan.

Now keep in mind that they wont be as PERFECT as the ones that already have that shape (obviously), but if you are in a bind and don’t mind an extra 5 minutes of work, it’s an easy fix.

Use Tinfoil to Create a Heart for Cupcakes

Just ball about a piece of foil and put it in between the tin and the cupcake wrapper.

Like so:

(this tip is from the cookbook I was using, Taste of Home Kids, but the pictures are my actual cupcakes)

Which creates this:

Voila.

No heart shaped tin needed!

That’s a cute idea. I bet if you added some smaller balls towards the bottom you could create a tip down there.

Yeah I have seen the marble and wondered the same thing about the heat. The tin foil seems like a MUCH better idea.

Oh, and we are TOTALLY trying the marble craft you are talking about LOL

Oh I will totally repin your pin did you already pin it? I like how yours shows a real cupcake in the pin i saw it just showed the set up of using a marble I think but not the finished product, I would rather see this than just the set up then click over for instructions if that makes sense lOL. I like seeing the finished product.

          i did pin it 🙂

A marble? I am pretty sure at the right heat marbles crack on the inside cause I saw a craft with it…foil is probably a bit safer.
