It’s not that people cannot cook, it’s that they are often missing two main, let’s say ingredients, to a successful meal: Time and Knowledge. As a small business owner with 2 kids, 7 pets and a husband that works full time as well, our house can be beyond busy. This month I gave Blue Apron a try. This review is courtesy of Blue Apron, which sent me 2 meals to test and give you my Blue Apron Review!
Ordering was easy. You simply sign on their website and see what great recipes are coming up! Pick a meal for two or family of four. I was able to take away any seafood recipes as no one here eats much fish and done! You can click on each recipe to learn more about it as well.

What I loved about Blue Apron:
I think it’s obvious that the one thing I loved about Blue Apron the most was that everything was premeasured and ready to go. The meal came with a recipe sheet that broke down step by step for creation, so it doesn’t matter what skill level of a cook you are. I found this extra helpful if you are teaching a child to cook- they can see what is coming up next!
Do any of the products come prepared?
My meals were all ingredients and instructions. The preparation was totally up to me, which made it a homemade meal!
Can you alter the recipes from Blue Apron?
I always say your taste is your own. On the meatball meal I made, I wasn’t sure about the sesame oil. It can often be too strong for me but I went for it anyway. Turns out it was perfect and something I never would have done that on my own. That being said, the soy sauce was a little on the light side for my personal taste, so I added a little extra to my rice.
How was the family meal portion size from Blue Apron?
I was honestly a little skeptical when I saw the food. It looked so…tiny. But it was enough. More than enough! I sent some down to my neighbors house to test out too. She ordered Blue Apron just last week. I sent her down a plate to see what she thought.

Yes, my meal was delicious. The recipe was pretty spot on and having gall the ingredients here, including the spices, made it easy for me to go from “OMG IS IT DINNER TIME ALREADY LETS DO TAKEOUT” to “OMG IS IT DINNERTIME ALREADY…wait…. I have this handled.”
