How to make Strawberry Pretzel Dessert
BAKING TIP: This recipe is broken down into three easy stages.
Read through each stage to understand the parts of the recipe and organization of your triple layered strawberry pretzel dessert. This will ensure you do not miss an important step. The recipe consists of a crust, a middle, and a topping.
Let’s get started on making dessert!
Preheat oven to 350 and place mini mason jars onto a baking sheet. Remove your canning lids.
Use a food processor to chop pretzels into small pieces, which will be the basis for your dessert. The pretzels provide a beautiful and tasty crunch at the bottom of your spoon and is one of the best parts of this totally easy dessert!
Add melted butter and sugar and process until mixed well.
Spoon 2 tablespoons of crust into each mason jar.
Use a pastry tart shaper to press the crust firmly into the bottom of the jars.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool completely. Remember the jars will be hot!
Cream Cheese Filling
Let’s move onto the cream cheese filling, which is the largest portion of this dessert. Mix up your cream cheese, whipped cream, white sugar and vanilla with a mixer until smooth and creamy. I love to do this in my standing mixer, but a hand mixer is fine too.
Once its all blended together, spoon 3 tablespoons of filing into each pretzel jar.
Smooth the mixture evenly into the jar with the back of a spoon and fill you entire mason jar up.
Refrigerate.
Strawberry Pretzel Jar Topping
You are almost done! Combine water and gelatin and stir for 2 minutes or until no longer grainy and all gelatin is dissolved.
Stir in strawberries.
Now spoon fruit mixture on top of cream cheese and refrigerate for 2 hours or until ready to serve. This allows the gelatin time to solidify, making a perfect fruity serving on the top of each portion.
This dessert recipe makes 12 small jars.
