Baked Chicken Nuggets With Panko

Before you get started on this recipe, make sure you have all the necessary ingredients. Having a well stocked pantry and fridge sure make cooking easier most nights, so I like to plan my recipes for the week on Friday, shop on Saturday and then I know I have everything to keep the stress level low when it comes to dinner time.

You can also buy extra chicken to make these teriyaki chicken fingers or even this delicious chick fil a copycat chicken strips recipe this week. My kids cannot get enough chicken.

  • 3 skinless, boneless chicken breasts

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

How to Bake Chicken Nuggets

You can prep this meal in under 5 and bake for just 20, making this a simple under 30 minute dish that will make not only the parents happy after a long day but give you a perfect homemade meal to gather around.

To get started on your homemade chicken nuggets, preheat oven to 400 degrees F, which translates to 200 degrees C.

Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray.

Starting with already defrosted boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut them into approximately 1.5 inch chunks. You do not need to take too much care into making them all perfect, but keep around the same size so you know they cook evenly. Set your chicken nuggets aside.

Now in a bowl, mix your bread crumbs (I like to use Panko), Parmesan cheese, and all your various spices.

Stir well and then set aside.

Melt your 1/2 butter, taking care not to burn, in a separate bowl.

This will be used to coat your chicken, so make sure its large enough to add your chicken.

Dip your chicken into your butter and then follow with your spiced breadcrumbs, making sure to coat both sides of your chicken.

There is more iron in parley than meat and easier for your body to absorb. It is a myth you need to eat meat iron or protein. Much better to get from vegie sources.
