Sometimes I forget I am 37. It seems like only yesterday I was banned to the kid table in the other room at my grandmas. And as much as I loved family get togethers, the kid table was like a punishment in the corner. Now as the mom in charge the kid table is no more. Instead, I have replaced it with a totally sophisticated and fun table perfect for a child of (nearly) any age to sit down and eat cookies, crackers and enjoy what the holidays are really about- Balloons and Food.
I wanted to inspire you by inviting you to kick up the kids table a notch with these totally easy ideas that make your party the best one on the block.
EASY IDEAS FOR DECORATING THE KIDS TABLE
To create an easy to do kids table you simply need a few easy decorations.
Table Covering – Because kids can easily mess up your favorite lace or linen cloth, don’t even go there. Instead, cover the table in wrapping paper! I used this great brown paper pattern with gold dots to bring the pizzazz. The best part is when the party is over, you have no mess to clean up! Simply clear the table and throw away.
Plates– Chargers bring a fun look and can be matched up or made in many different colors. I found some great burlap chargers for mere dollars. The great thing about burlap chargers is that the plates cling easily making less slide. I also picked up some after fall plates for just $1!
Fun Drinks: No time to make punch? Not a problem! Kids like to feel like grown ups and this fun Cream Soda with silly straw makes for a great time. Have kids that can’t handle a bottle? Not a problem!
Pour in a glass and add some whipped cream on top of the cream soda for some fizzy fun.
Decor: Balloons and more balloons!
For under $2 you can blow up 12 matching balloons that also have the added effect of being used for game time. You don’t have to get too decorated on a kids table. By throwing down some confetti, Christmas belles or cinnamons sticks, you can bring the right look at almost a no cost price.
Food- Kids love cookies and crackers! Check out this totally tasty TRISCUIT Cracked Pepper “Cheesecake” topper that brings just a hint of bite with lots of sweet.
