The past few months I have been able to share some fantastic kids books with you. Reading is so important and in my house I even put more emphasis on it. I read every day myself and I cant imagine what I would do without being able to lose myself in characters and stories daily. It’s truly one of the joys in life.
Now Phoenyx is just 5 and he isn’t a full reader yet. He is actually a brand new reader and working on site words and sounding out right now. The past few weeks he has really started to pick up reading and Dad, Charlotte and myself all give each other little glances when he gets a word right. Our family is so excited about our last little guy reading!

Nanette’s Baguette Book Review
This month I wanted to share a brand new book with you, Nanette’s Baguette. Nanette’s Baguette is a beautiful bright book that has fun quirky characters and creates a sweet story with lots of rhyming words. Think Nanette’s Baguette and Tibet and Antoinette.
The book is far too challenging for my new reader, but my 6th grader was able to tackle it and read to him.
Of course stopping every few minutes as he recognized a word and wanted to share with us about it.
Much to Charlotte’s annoyance.

I think kids sometimes believe there is a huge line separating adults and themselves. And while there is truth to that, this book helps remind kids that even though they make mistakes, parents are there to pick them back up- and make a few mistakes themselves.
