Floam Recipe

We have a lot of slime recipes on momdot and you are welcome to use nearly any one of our how to make slime tutorials for this outcome. The key to adding your foam balls at the end is that you can really pick the size, shape, color and add or take away.

Because we wanted you to still see the slime within your floam recipe here for demonstration purposes, we used less than if we were to have play time. You can also turn this into easy fluffy slime with shaving cream.

  •  1/2 cup white glue
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup liquid starch
  • food coloring (as shown McCormick Neon Blue Food Coloring Color)
  • foam balls

Psst, these colored styrofoam slime balls are pretty cool!

How to make Floam

In a mixing bowl, add white glue and warm water. I like to buy a big container of glue because one you start making slime, you will want to try all sorts of experiments.

Mix well until glue is dissolved with water.

glue

Add food coloring to your glue and mix well.

Your colorant should be fully saturated before you move on to the next step.

mixing dye

Stir in liquid starch.

And keep stirring.

Slime will come together but may look like it’s not.

If necessary knead until smooth.

Knead in about 1/2 cup foam balls.

Slime Storage

Slime has to be kept from the air or it will dry out. You can store slime in a Tupperware container with a lid or even a mason jar.

While I use ziplock bags on occasion for quick storage, just note that if the slime gets sticky, it can be a bit of a pain to pull out.

Simply add a little more starch to release it from the bag if it gets stuck.
