Meatball Pizza Recipe

With the biggest game of the year coming up, two things are gonna happen: Get-togethers and FOOD. In my house, those go simultaneously and I am sure that in your house if you are planning on watching the big game (and excited still about who is going to make it there) you are ready for both. Now you have tons of choices when it comes to sitting down in front of the TV all day. No doubt you will be eating dips, snacks, veggie trays, heck even baked chicken nuggets, and dessert.

But you also need something of SUBSTANCE or your day will pass and you will be eating all day and still hungry at 10pm. Know what I mean? That is why this football season I am encouraging you to make homemade meatball pizza complete with fresh mozzarella and basil.

Meatball Pizza with Fresh Mozzarella and basil for a delicious super bowl recipe that everyone will love This recipe hits three major things:

It’s delicious. IT REALLY REALLY IS.

It’s easy to make.  Meatball pizza takes under 20 minutes total and can be customized easily for each person in the house (if you love your friends that much).  And the thing about the big game is that you don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen all day, so whatever short cuts I can take and still end up with a fantastic dinner or lunch, is a big plus.

Mozzarella and fresh basil. Yes, that’s major cause everything with mozzarella and fresh basil is a winner.

Instructions

Make mini meatballs in cast iron pan on stove. Make them bite size and they take almost no time to make at all!

Add Ragu sauce (about 1/4 cup depending on the size of your pizza) to your dough. I used a premade dough that only needed to be warmed up, but if you are an overachiever, you can make fresh dough.

Add your meatballs on the pizza, cover with fresh mozzarella slices

Now you can add fresh basil leaves before you cook OR wait till the end and add them after.

I prefer to put mine in before because I feel like it pops the flavor out. Some people like the basil added after, so chefs choice!
