Paper Clip + Curly Ribbon = Homemade Ornaments

Make a perfect Christmas Ornament with a Paperclip and Curly Ribbon, Fun, Inexpensive Chrismas DIY

I have finally retired Thanksgiving Crafts. I have to admit- it makes me sad. I was so getting used to publishing turkeys that they had become part of my every day. But the internet around me has been celebrating Christmas for the past 6 weeks- EASY.

And its finally time to conform.

Or catch up rather.

Now if you missed it, I sorta pre-jumped the gun on my Cinnamon Stick Star Ornaments but now I am actually here to kick off Christmas Crafting.

First thing I want to do- give you something so easy, and so inexpensive, you probably have all these items in your house!

Back-story: About 4 months ago I bought these super cute swirly paperclips. I had planned to make some super cute book marks. But really- who uses a book mark. Everyone I know is on a Nook and everyone else (like me) just bends the corner all up like a Neanderthal, so they sat on my desk in a tin and mocked me.

Then I did one of those ‘ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh’ moments where I realized, I CAN use these darn paper clips! Now that it’s Christmas time, I can use them all over the place.

So here we go- my very first (*cough* *second* *cough*) Homemade Christmas Ornament of the new year. And prep yourself cause its gonna be a long month of this.

Paper Clip + Curly Ribbon = Cutest and Most Inexpensive Ornament Evah

You need

  • Curly Ribbon
  • Paperclips ( I love these round ones, but use whatever you think is cutest)
  • Scissors to curl your ribbon

DIY Instructions:

Easy peasy. I think just by hearing what you need you have this figured out. Make up all your curly ribbon and then tie in a little knot around your paperclip.

Push down onto tree.

DONE.

You are loving me right now, I know you are. What I so enjoy with this idea was that I can decorate all the ends of my tree branches very easily right where regular ornaments usually fall off by weight. Fancy paperclips like these just hold right to the branch!

That’s a super cute idea. But I think I would get so distracted with the fun of curling ribbon that I’d forget to make anything with it.

All my scissors come apart so basically it was driving me nuts when I curled!
