This weekend I was a crafting fool! I had all sorts of inspiration running wild, which is normal for me in Feb. I love Valentines and hearts and all things love when it comes to crafting. My supply of colored card stock from Staples sometimes looks like I AM Staples. Btw, I was just in there a few weeks ago and they were doing a buy 1 get one 1 free on cardstock. Keep that in mind because if you do a lot of papercrafts like I do, its a great way to get ahead.
In any case, I wanted to share a fun and adorable way to spice up your appetizer table, Valentines Day school party or just to serve up as a treat for lunch for your kids.
Why? Because its cute.
Lets get started!
DIY Valentine’s Cupid Arrow (from Toothpicks)
Now this idea is easy and ready for nearly anything you can think of. If you prep your toothpicks like I did, you can put in these adorable heart marshmallows that I found at Walmart, you can stick in fruit or cheese that you have used a cookie cutter to shape into a heart or you can leave as a full toothpick and put on the top of a cupcake!
Instructions to create:
- You can use my files (I have a PDF or Free Silhouette file at the bottom of my article) to cut out these Arrows the perfect toothpick size.
- Now cut your toothpicks in half. You will need to be careful in this process because my toothpicks were flying all over the place while cutting.
- Then dab the non pointy end of your toothpick in some glue and place right on top of your arrow cut outs. Dry time was about 5 minutes for me using Elmers.
- Carefully stick the toothpicks pointy end into your marshmallow (or fruit, cheese, etc) with the arrow pointing down and the feathers on the top.
Valentines Freebies!
I have done all the work so wanted to share. Here is an arrow PDF file in hotpink for ya if you want to go the old fashioned way with a crafting scalpel or you can download my Silhouette file and print off. You can change the size and color if you have the machine.
