Ingredients

  • Double crust pie dough or canned biscuits
  • 4 cups of fresh peaches (cut into small cubes)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • Water (enough to cover the fruit when placed in a medium saucepan)
  • Flour to roll the dough (pie or biscuit)
  • 12 Tablespoons unsalted butter

This Fried Peach Pie Recipe yields about 12 servings. This recipe can make anywhere between 6 and 12 pies, depending on how large you make your pies and how much filling you use in each.

Fried Peach Pie Instructions

To get started on your homemade Fried Peach Pies, you’ll first need to gather your equipment. You’ll need:

  • Rolling pin
  • Large biscuit cutter (or a circular sandwich crust cutter)
  • Medium saucepan
  • Large skillet
  • Wooden spoon (for cooking fruit)
  • Spoon (for spreading filling into crust)
  • Fork (for closing pie seams)

1.) Prepare Your Filling

Place the fresh peach cubes and your cup of sugar in a medium saucepan. Fill with enough water to barely cover the peaches. Heat on medium to medium-high heat and cook for roughly 20 minutes, until the sugar melts, the filling becomes thicker, and the fruit gets soft.

You can either wait until filling is done cooking, turn the heat off, and set aside, or prepare the crust as the fruit cooks.

2.) Roll & Cut the Dough

Dust your work surface with some flour, then roll out your pie or biscuit dough until flat and even. Using your biscuit cutter, cut out however many circles you want for pies (a large biscuit cutter will make closer to 6 pies, while a smaller cutter will allow for 12 or so pies).

Roll the circles of dough out once again.

3.) Put Your Pies Together

Spoon the peach pie filling into the center of the dough circles and spread longways down the middle of the dough. Fold the dough closed (your filling should be in a “pouch”, leaving only dough on the outer edges), and use the tines of a fork to close the seams. Press down gently and pull outwards.

4.) Fry Your Pies

In a large skillet, melt 1 Tablespoon of butter per pie on medium to medium-high heat. Place pie, one at a time, in the skillet and let fry on each side until crispy and golden brown (about 3-5 minutes).

When done frying, drain on paper towels.

That’s it! Simple, fresh, and delicious homemade Fried Peach Pies!
