This slime recipe can also be combined with Rainbow Slime (clear glue) to get even more creative! We love making slime and one of our favorites falls under our sprinkle slime series, Rainbow Explosion Slime. We have made some really beautiful sprinkle slimes (all listed below) but wanted to give it a try with clear glue and the results were lots of fun.
Clear glue
is different because it provides a stickier and more flowing slime, making it a fun sensory experience and a bit more challenging to create.
You can get the recipe below to make your liquid glass (ie clear slime) and then enhance it with lovely falling rainbows.

How to make Clear Slime
Before you get started on how to make slime, you absolutely want to have your products on hand. I know you want to create this beautiful crystal slime and it is awesome, but making sure you are prepared is half the battle. Plus Amazon can have it to you like tomorrow. (I puffy heart amazon)
Unlike when you learn how to make fluffy slime, this does not have any shaving cream and adding it will change your clear to white.
- Clear Glue (finding this in a gallon is HARD so you can see if they have it here…if you find it, GET IT! Otherwise you can get smaller bottles

When it comes to any slime recipe, please know that its a science project. It shouldn’t be done with really tiny children or kids that put things in their mouths.
Maybe dyed spaghetti is better for the little’s.
At the end of the day, slime is a fun project but also one that you should create with caution. Remember that if you have sensitive skin to use gloves.
How do you make Clear Slime?
Before we get started on making rainbow explosion clear slime, you will need to learn how to make clear slime!
You do the same thing you always do when you make slime recipes- mix your glue
and your starch
.
If you are used to making slime in general, this is pretty easy for you but when it comes to clear glue, it typically needs double the amount of starch to cling together. Clear glue is VERY STICKY!! I am not giving exact measurements because it mostly depends on how much slime you want to make.
That being said, we typically pour in about a cup of glue, then add your dye (if you add any, in this case we didn’t but in other slimes like the Unicorn Poop Clear Slime Recipe we did), and then about cup of starch when it comes to clear glue.
I would recommend adding about 1/4th cup at a time till you get the amount you need.
You will know that its the perfect amount when you can peel it off your hands.
Again, when you use CLEAR GLUE, it will have a faster flow and will not work like regular hard glue slimes.
The point is to leave it super flowing! I like to use a spoon first till it starts to stick together and then knead it to finish.
Rainbow Explosion Clear Slime
Make sure you check all those out as well (images at bottom to go to the posts) because they all have a different look and are a lot of fun.
Once you have your clear slime made, you can spread it out and add your sprinkles.
Wait about 15-30 seconds for the sprinkles to sit and then slowly stretch your slime to see rainbows and streaks left behind.
The sprinkles leave dye behind and eventually turn white themselves.
Because its so fun, you may want to have more than one bottle of sprinkles. I have found that most sprinkles will leave streaks, although the bigger the sprinkle, the longer it takes.
Example: Birthday Cake Slime
IMPORTANT STEP: Kneading is half the battle of getting the slime to stop sticking. If you knead for about 2 minutes and its still, well, everywhere, you need to pour in some more starch. Its just that simple. Be amazed as your slime starts to form up!
Now that you have made your clear slime, otherwise known as liquid glass in the DIY world, you can get to the fun part- making rainbows!
In the past I have done this with our regular RAINBOW EXPLOSION SLIME, Galaxy Slime, Fluffy Fairy Slime, Rainbow Burst Slime, and Sprinkle Slime.
