I am beyond excited! After more than four years, we’re finally planning a family reunion with my side of the family. In just a few days we’ll be traveling to meet up with my parents, my siblings, and my nieces and nephews for an entire week of festivities. 10 adults and 13 kids, ranging from age 14 down to 2, all snuggled up in one rustic cabin nestled in the Rocky Mountains. Heaven!
Because my family understands how much I love planning and organizing, they’ve allowed me to plan almost all of it. This may sound daunting to some, but it is just what I love to do. {Click here to read more about my love of checkmarks and lists} I researched the area and booked our cabin, found activities for us to fill our days, planned games and crafts for all ages, put together a meal and snack menu, compiled a shopping list for each family to contribute, and began shopping for items we’ll need to survive. It is going to be a fabulous week!

Planning for so many can be quite the task, so to make shopping as stress-free as possible, I planned a one-stop-shop at Walmart. I always start with the non-perishable items that can be stored easily sometimes months before needing to actually pack the trunk for departure. This usually includes paper products and bathroom necessities, as well as laundry and cleaning supplies, since they can be squirreled away in a corner of the garage in bulk without worry of damage or spoiling. It works out pretty perfect that right now you can do a #GreatAmericanStockUp at Walmart and snag a bunch of summer faves!
BATHROOM NECESSITIES
Old Spice High Endurance Pure Sport Body Wash– With five men under one roof, of course we’re going to need a “high endurance, pure sport” body wash! Boating, biking, hiking, and campfire are a few of the activities that I have planned, so we need something strong enough to wash away the side effect of all that fun: Man Musk! Plus, I love the scent of Old Spice in general.
Pantene Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal– My hair tends to take a beating during the Summer more than the Winter. Not only do we swim almost daily in chlorinated water, but sunscreen tends to dry out my hair faster than chlorine. Pantene Pro-V has always been my go-to to reverse the effects of both sunscreen and chlorine, but also the perpetual ponytail that I sport all Summer. 2X more moisture– Yes, please!
Crest Gum Detoxify Deep Clean Toothpaste– Yes, we try and make as many healthy meals as possible (I am also excited to make some of my new-found Keto recipes!), but you better believe we have our share of treats, snacks, and goodies. To combat the havoc these can have on our teeth, we make sure to fortify with Crest Gum Detoxify toothpaste. I love the brand, I love the health benefits, but I seriously love the flavor of this toothpaste! I’m a gagger, so that’s huge for me.
Pampers Pure Protection Diapers– While I don’t have babies in diapers (Thank Goodness!), my sister does. I made sure to tell her about this deal so that she can grab some for this trip, yes, but also for the next 13,000,000 diaper changes over the next three months. That may be a bit of an exaggeration, but my gosh I felt like I was always changing a poopy back in the day when I had three in diapers!
PAPER PRODUCTS
Charmin Ultra Strong Toilet Paper– With only one in diapers and the other 12 toilet trained, you can imagine the amount of flushes we’ll have over the course of the week! While the picture only has six Mega rolls, you better believe I have each family buying one 20-Roll package of these babies. 100 Mega rolls should do the trick. Hopefully!
Bounty Select-A-Size Paper Towels– I love the select-a-size option that Bounty offers. With that many kids, there is bound to be a spill or two (or fifty) each meal, some larger than others. 8 rolls should do the trick for one week, I think.
LAUNDRY & CLEANING SUPPLIES
Tide PODS Ultra Oxi Liquid Detergent– I have always been a Tide POD lover. From the second they hit the shelves, I’ve never used anything else. With the outdoor activities I have planned, I wanted the option of Oxi, since grass stains can be a bit of a challenge. Food, grass, dirt, ash from the campfire, and sand are all on the “menu,” so we definitely need the power that Tide packs into each gel pack! It’s not often that I have a load solely of towels, but I’m thinking we’ll have one load a day. I’m not sure which is going to be used more, the toilets or the washing machines. I cannot wait to find out!
Dawn Ultra Dishwashing Liquid– I love it when one product can serve two purposes! Not only is this the only dishwashing soap I use in my kitchen, it is also one of the main ingredients for my tub and shower cleaning solution.
SHOWER SOAP SCUM SOLUTION OF DREAMS
INGREDIENTS
- 1 part Dawn Ultra Dishwashing Liquid
- 1 part Vinegar
- 1 kitchen dish scrubber or spray bottle
INSTRUCTIONS
Depending on the size of container or scrubber you plan to use, simply make sure that you use the same amount of both Dawn and Vinegar. If I am using my spray bottle, I just spray the area I plan to clean and allow to sit for about five minutes. With or without the spray bottle, just wet the scrubber of the kitchen brush and scrub the affected area. Make sure that you rinse well. I have had instances where I simply had to spray, soak for five minutes, wipe (no scrubbing needed!) and rinse– it works so well!
With the sheer amount of supplies and shopping needed for this family reunion, it sure is nice to have a one-stop shop that saves me money. Also, if your store has Walmart Pickup, I would highly recommend using it! It is SO simple– Download the app, add favorites from a massive list of items available at your neighborhood store, do your shopping simply by adding items to your cart that you visibly see you need as you walk around your kitchen and home, schedule a time to pick it up, drive to the store where they will load it into your trunk, drive home and unload. I have had instances where it took only 10 minutes from driveway to Walmart to driveway with a trunkful of groceries! Where was this amazing service when I had five kids under 9-years of age in -15 degree weather with a -50 degree windchill?!
Whether you use Walmart.com or head on over to your neighborhood Walmart, stock up on these HOT Summer faves and saves!
